Sliders Sunday

Clare gifted me the bone china mug in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's rose motif.

I feel Ray will not mind two pansies from his recently planted hanging basket participating here!

Lange Schatten und lichte Punkte. Das Jahr 2020.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Maybe a rope to hold on to. A lot of shade this year, for many stinging like needles. A lot has changed for many, is still changing. Maybe there is also a soft base. Just like here. And – where there is shadow, there is also light – so they say. Just like here. A lot is being questioned or reconsidered in order to make it better in the future. So it fits that green is also known as the color of hope ;-)

/

Again serious thoughts on my part. Although I have implemented this picture very playfully and with a lot of fun ;-) I wish you all that you can also act in a playful way – and have fun doing it :-)))

///

/

Wieder einmal ernste Gedanken meinerseits.

Don't worry, I'm harmless. Believe me – really, I'm scared of myself. What a little different lighting can do (or deface) ... Sometimes appearances are deceptive and suddenly everything seems damn creepy ;-)

By the way, you can find out about my state and my other "I" here – a few moments earlier ... flic.kr/p/2mmMExG

Carcassonne, Languedoc, France

"Carcassonne [...] is a French fortified city in the department of Aude, in the region of Occitanie. It is the prefecture of the department.

Inhabited since the Neolithic, Carcassonne is located in the plain of the Aude between historic trade routes, linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif Central to the Pyrénées. Its strategic importance was quickly recognized by the Romans, who occupied its hilltop until the demise of the Western Roman Empire. In the fifth century, it was taken over by the Visigoths, who founded the city. Within three centuries, it briefly came under Islamic rule. Its strategic location led successive rulers to expand its fortifications until the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.

Its citadel, known as the Cité de Carcassonne, is a medieval fortress dating back to the Gallo-Roman period and restored by the theorist and architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc in 1853. It was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997 because of the exceptional preservation and restoration of the medieval citadel. [...]" (Wikipedia)

These complaints already sound a little funny or rather strange when you listen to this old song by Hans Albers from 1950, from which the line of text comes. But the first connecting thought came to me about the candy and Hans Albers, because he sang so many longing songs about the sea, the sailors and the associated, often "waiting" women. The name of this special – and no less famous – pastille, which clears the breath as beautifully as a fresh sea breeze, is called: Fisherman's Friend. And a worried and wistful eye goes well with that, doesn't it? ... By the way, I usually have some of these friends with me ;-)

///

Ingredients: white mint candy as eyeball, red onfectionery decoration as iris, flower petals as eyelashes, sugar as face (no snow), not a drop of water as a tear (it wouldn't be good for the sugar ...), sunlight (which was pretty hard, made everything sparkle – but probably also pushed my lens a little to its limits ...)

///

The outline is St. Andew's Church in Blubberhouses in the Washburn Valley, North Yorkshire. It is located near the head of Fewston reservoir

The church dates from the 1850’s Edward Buckton Lamb (1805-1869) was the architect who was also known as the ‘Rogue Architect’ because he believed in the architectural style known as true Gothic.

These handsome ducks were walking on the ice, which took on different colors. I think the colors came from the grasses and reeds that were under the ice. With the sun shining on the ice the colors were very unusual and very pretty. Which I think made for a great background. Thank you Skeletal Mess for your texture and I used Picnic for the dropshadow.

Thanks to everyone for visiting , commenting , awards and invitations.

It was a blustery sunshine-luminous day with the light seemingly bouncing off the sea when I met Charlotte on the beach at Hayling Island. She readily agreed to have her portrait taken for my strangers' project.

During lockdown it became too difficult to source portraits and I began converting existing photos into mono. It was interesting to decide which to convert.

Although lockdown seems far behind us now, I have continued this series.
