Dew Drop Spider Argyrodes antipodianus
The tiny 3-4mm spider share the webs of other spiders. They are kleptoparasites and steal the host spider's prey.
At last, i captured the beautiful splash. It was one of the thing that I always wanted to do with the camera:) I am so happy that I captured it. Ain't it beautiful?

After shooting loaded coal train 592 that we’d followed down from Pilot to here: flic.kr/p/2kREnv1 we hustled back across the river hoping to intercept the next one that was right behind him coming under the row of still standing catenary poles just a mile or so up from the wye in Perryville. As we dropped down Sumpter Drive toward the river we saw a headlight coming down the Port Road and had just enough time to race ahead to this spot we wanted. Norfolk Southern eastbound train 590 (Export coal from Shire Oaks to Consol terminal Baltimore) is approaching the overpass over Frenchtown Road at about MP 1.2 on the Port Road Branch. Remains of the catenary that powered PRR, PC, CR and Amtrak trains from 1938 to 1981 abound in this area.
The train is passing beneath CSXT’s busy Philadelphia Subdivision mainline, the former Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, which spans the Port Road and the Susquehanna River on a 6100 foot long bridge with 85 ft of clearance above the river. The bridge consists of 38 spans including a Pennsylvania thru truss section in excess of 500 feet in length that was among the longest simple trusses in the world when the then double track bridge opened in 1910 replacing a single track structured dating from 1886. The B&O single tracked the bridge some time after they ended passenger service to Philadelphia and New York City in 1958 and it remains so to this day.

For the basic setup, I placed the camera in front of the kitchen faucet, and opened the faucet until it dripped every second or so. To stop the motion as crisply as possible, I used an off camera flash as the main lighting: Because the flash is so very fast (1/10,000 of a second), it tends to freeze the motion of the water, making for a more crisp shot.
I wanted a background that would look good in black and white (i.e. something simple), so I printed "H2O" onto a piece of paper, placed behind the faucet. If you focus "through" the water, the drops act as a lens, allowing you to see the background through the water.
Once I had everything set up, it was mostly a matter of taking a bunch of shots (100 or so?) until I got the timing right, and a "pretty" looking drop.

It took many tries to capture this, this happens so quickly, the adult flies in, passes the fish and chick swallows it in a fraction of a second. My cameras 4fps is just not enough :)

Another macro shot. I was playing with selective focus the week before DCL put forth the challenge. Thought I would share this one.
Nice refraction of the surrounding scene in this big drop. This is taken handheld with a 75-150mm Pentax telephoto mounted on an extension tube.

Debimos echar como 30 pruebas hasta que salieron un par decentes.

My first attempt at shooting drops with my macro lens. Not a perfect drop, but I liked the way it magnified the detail and texture in the leaf.
