Long-exposure picture while dropping the camera in a controlled way. The white lines are of the ceiling lamp in our living room, the background glow is caused by a blue television screen.
This picture was attempt 28. And fortunately, the camera has survived the experiments :-)

My contacts seem to be dropping like flies with various illnesses or accidents so this is for Claire flickr.com/photos/clairepenn/ & Vie flickr.com/photos/vielipowski/ in the hope that you will both be better & back in the flickr fold soon!
Thanks for the spot in Explore Donna! #217 26/11/08
After tacking on a standard cab SD60 in Atlanta the decision was made to drop that locomotive in Harrisburg Yard (lacked the required cab signals to traverse the Pittsburgh Line) and spin the 3 F-Units.
Why this wasn't done down south I don't know, but the 4270 would become the westbound leader for the rest of the journey home from Harrisburg to Altoona.
After dropping off 11 cars at the CSX interchange, 86 continues on passing over the rebuilt right of way over CSX and Tuscarora Creek before heading into downtown Martinsburg, WV. The track and bridges were heightened as part of CSX's National gateway project in order to allow domestic double-stack containers on the former B&O East End.
The road known as the Raleigh Street extension opened in late 2013 and provides motorists with an alternate avenue into downtown and provides this scene looking north from the overpass.
Shot for the theme "Macro". I don't actually own a macro lens but am satisfied with what I captured using my 85mm prime.

Wish I ha purchased some gold a while ago since it seems to be the only thing going up in value...Instead I had to find my own little drops of gold in the garden.
Impressive updraft feeding this storm cell as it moves across lower Michigan. Of course the cell I WOULD have targeted produced a tornado (at least on radar and not yet confirmed) and I was not able to be in position for that. But I at least got to get some shots of this one which was pretty photogenic.

hi all
last from me for a while as I will be away for a couple of weeks or so!
This shot was taken a few nights ago and I really like the unpredictability of these water shots :-) Another one for the take 2 series!
Have a great weekend!
Thanks for looking

I took this shot a few weeks ago...what, if anything do you like about this shot? From the looks of it, there was a hole under the water drop....;-).

This drop of water is sitting on a seedhead and is refracting a tiger lily in the background. A tonemapping process brings out some detail in the seedhead and gives the background the character of flames. The refraction of the lily and sky are quite vivid as well.
Remember, everything in a drop refraction is upside down so the sky is in the bottom.
