Eristalis is a large genus of hoverflies, family Syrphidae, in the order Diptera. Several species are known as drone flies (or droneflies) because they bear a resemblance to honeybee drones.
Drone flies and their relatives are fairly common generalist pollinators, the larvae of which are aquatic, and breathe through a long, snorkel-like appendage, hence the common name rat-tailed maggots.

Located on Australia's east coast, the city surrounds one of the world's largest natural harbours, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west.
Though less common than the DY-08 loader, the M-Tron lifter is nonetheless a capable assistant to any longshoreman.

A drone is used to capture aerial views of brand new Enviro 400 Citys in Wrexham depot. ARRIVA Buses Wales has invested £3.25 million in 13 state of the art vehicles for Sapphire service 1 which will shortly be hitting the roads.
5/2021 - NS 1580 is a former N&W SD40. As far as I know it's still pending donation. No idea what the hold up is.
Fast-forward to 2024: The 1580 was finally donated to the Roanoke Chapter NRHS but sent to TVRM.
Drones in the US are not permitted to fly above 400 feet in most circumstances. So this is a view to the north west from Richland, WA at a height of 390 feet. The large white building in the distance is an agricultural freezer facility with a capacity of 15.8 million cubic feet that handles 2 billion pounds of food per year.

With the last Northbound Great Southern Luxury Passenger train for the season in tow, NR31 and NR30 pick up the pace as they head through the Southern Highlands with Journey Beyond Rail service 6AT8 to Coffs Harbour.
With the success of this season, next season is already on sale. The train uses The Ghan rollingstock, which previously was parked up for the months of December and January when that service doesn't operate.

The drone market has recently seen an influx of competing infantry designs, owing largely to increased hostilities across the yellow zone. The Knight frame was hastily ordered by militaries eager to put its durability and rugged design to the test.
Early reports indicate favourable results, though as with most drones in service, Soft AI errors are still cause for concern, particularly following several friendly-fire incidents with the previous model.
At 3.9 metres, it casts an intimidating silhouette across any theatre. Primary armament is interchangeable, pictured is a shoulder mounted mag-accelerator. The Knight's manipulators are capable of picking up and firing standard human armaments, meaning that it can adapt and repurpose weapons from the battlefield.

For the 1350 drones to coordinate and fulfill their mission, three months of work were necessary. About twenty people programmed the show presented in Geneva, funded by a private sponsor. "It's a computer that directs all the drone choreography, it's even several computers according to each type of drone and that will give each drone where they should go and at what speed," says Cédric Schaller, director of the company Groupe F Suisse, project manager. RTS News.

The JVRR crew rolls across the Juniata River on the former PRR. They're using the Long Industrial which was main track four at one time. Notice the c.1850 bridge piers still standing along side and partly under the newer arch bridge.
