I found it's easiest to find taxi drivers to interview: have interviewed one in Japan, Malaysia, Korea, China, Vietnam, and this one Taiwan.

The driver's coat was worn by Ordnance employees who accompanied the artillery drum carriage on campaign. The drum carriage personnel represented the Board of Ordnance's public face and they were dressed appropriately. Uniform coats could cost as much as £50 (nearly £4,000 today).

Hundreds of angry truck drivers blockaded Shanghai's Baoshan port yesterday as part of a three day strike against rising fuel prices and higher handling fees charged by the port.
Entrances to the docks were blocked, preventing the pickup and receipt of containers, and the windows of trucks belonging to other drivers who refused to take part were smashed by protesting drivers.
The arrest of dozens of protestors, and unconfirmed rumours of the death of at least one protestor, led to a massive showdown between the police and strikers, and threats that the protest would be taken to the doorstep of the Shanghai municipal government.
Another 500 drivers are said to be protesting at the Yangshan port today.
Mainstream media have remained silent about the protests and a handful of news websites that carried reports on the strike unpublished the pages soon after, ostensibly on the orders of the propaganda office.
Last week, in a standoff that lasted till midnight, massive crowds gathered in Jiuting, Songjiang District, southwest of Xujiahui, after a number of chengguans, or urban administrative officers, allegedly roughed up two motorists.

The smashed tanker truck is the result of an accident that occurred nearby on the day Team ShipAway was originally going to meet, but got rained out. According to Jim Cole, the wreck was caused by a woman driver. The woman was unhurt, and the driver of the tanker truck was in a coma but we were told he is now recovering.
The dump truck that arrived on the scene of the accident to dump dirt along where the contaminated soil had been dug up, apparently also overturned. Quite a mess! I don't think Team ShipAway needed to be anywhere near here on that day.
I visited this town on the 30 th May 2010, on my way back to Bangkok from Pattaya. This time I used a taxi driver I did not know. He had been arranged by a travel agent opposite the hotel I stayed at in Pattaya which was the Bay Breeze Hotel, 503/2 Pattaya 2nd Road Soi 11, Pattaya City 20150. I always feel unsure when using a new driver, especially this one he was younger than normal and his car had seen better days. However this view changed of him during the trip. He turned out to be alright looking after us on the journey back. We arrived in Sri Racha town about 90 minutes after leaving Pattaya.
Si Racha is a town located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 120 kilometres south east of Bangkok located within Amphoe Si Racha in the province of Chonburi. The municipality was created as a sub district municipality in 1945. In 1995 the sub district municipality was upgraded to a town municipality. The Thai spelling is Sri Racha or Si Racha is a transliteration of the Thai pronunciation attributable to the fact that the double consonant SR does not occur natively in Thai speech so therefore pronounced SEE - RA - CHA.
There are 8 sub districts within this district which are Sri Racha / Surasak / Thung Sukhla / Bueng /Nong Kham / Khao Khansong / Bang Phra and Bowin. The town is famous for its seafood mainly served with a very spicy chilli sauce using the name of Srirachasauce and is sold all over the world. This sauce is made from the paste of chili peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt. In Thailand the sauce is called Sot Siracha and sometimes Nam Phrik Siracha . Traditional Thai Sriracha sauce tends to be hotter in taste, and runnier in texture than non - Thai versions. It was said to be created in the 1930’s from the recipe of a Thai housewife named Thanom Chakkapak.
North of the town is the Chinese temple of Wat Koh Loy, located on an island connected to the mainland by a 1.5 kilometre causeway. The temple mixes Thai Buddhists and Chinese icons of worship, including a Buddha's footprint.
The main tourist attractions of Sri Racha are the Zoo’s Khao Khew Open Zoo and Sri Racha Tiger Zoo. I have not yet been to the Khao Khew Zoo but I did visit Sri Racha Tiger Zoo on the 28 th. June 2014. On the day I went to Sri Racha I only had time to visit Koy Loy Park. This park is a local popular attraction along with many other tourist visiting here. There is a large car park for anyone arriving by car or taxi. The importance of this island is the ferry terminal that takes you to Koh Si Chang island, a small island off the coast of Thailand.
While the beaches are not as spectacular as other islands further east and south, such as Koh Samet, tourists can explore the remains of the former royal palace which was built as a summer retreat for King Chulalongkorn. The royal residence was abandoned in 1893 because that was when the French occupied the island during a conflict with Thailand over who would control Laos. This island now has a population of around 4,500, so it’s not large. Getting around here is usually by Tuk-Tuk Motorcycles, be amazed at the weird and wonderful strange motorcycle Samlors unique to Koh Si Chang, these three wheeled motorized rickshaws with powerful automobile or motorcycle engines. These once toured the streets of Bangkok but were banished to Sri Racha many years ago. They can be hired for about 60 Baht an hour to take visitors on a tour of the island.
For groups of tourists a one day, round the island transport package can be arranged at the pier. The charge for a three-wheeled motorized Tuk-Tuk, which will accommodate 5 persons, is around 250 Baht, and for a pick-up truck, which can accommodate up to 10 persons, it is about 500 Baht. Or you can use a Motorcycle by far the most popular way to get around the island. Renting a motorcycle, usually priced at around 300 Baht a day. While there are a few steep hills, the island is easily navigated by any novice motorcycle driver. Motorcycles can be rented at the pier, or at many guest houses or rental facilities along the main road.
Koy Loy Park has plenty to keep most visitors occupied for a few hours on their way to Pattaya or going the other way back to Bangkok. Plenty of shops, even a large pond filled with turtles you can feed or just watch. The Chinese temple on top of the small hill is worth a visit. The views from this small island make it a beautiful venue for a small picnic. While watching the ferry arrive from Koh Si Chang.
Sri Racha is part of a large district and is blessed with a modern eight lane motorway the Chonburi to Bangkok motorway which had been built connecting the eastern seaboard with Bangkok, as well as to U-Tapao International Airport. It is the only airport in Thailand to have direct flights to the South of the country, therefore missing out Bangkok. The older Sukhumvit road goes through downtown Sri Racha to Chonburi and Pattaya, but is often congested, as is usually the situation on roads down to Pattaya.

Over 45,000 examples of this type of ZIU trolleybus were manufactured at the factory in Engels in the USSR between 1973 and 1993. Most were for use in Russian cities where trolleybuses are the normal form of urban street transport.
Some orders were received for export from Russia to other countries and 5088 is one of 255 vehicles to be supplied to Athens in Greece. The vehicles were paid for with olive oil and oranges, instead of currency.
5088, built in 1989, was withdrawn in 2005 and was fully rebuilt and restored by ILPAP, the Athens operator, before leaving Greece for its new home at the East Anglian Transport Museum. It operates from the 600v DC overhead wiring, the same system used by trolleybuses in the UK. It is designed to carry 100 passengers, 24 seating and 76 standing. The electrical control system incorporates an 18-notch camshaft and electric as well as air braking.

Console manufacturers would have you believe you have to spend hundreds of pounds on New TV's, new glasses and buy special 3D games to play in 3D like this.
Not so, this is a live screen shot from Crysis when played in anaglyph 3D using the iZ3D Driver (freeware), look at the colours and clarity of the image its superb. You can adjust paralax and move the whole scene in and out of the screen all on the fly during live game play.
Im fed up with the big 3D con, im seriously considering moving back to the PC for games, when every single game, even ones as graphically complex as Crysis can be played in High Def 3D at no extra cost, with your existing equipment.
The iZ3D driver can be downloaded here, it has minimal effect on frame rate and will work on all 3D games on your PC if you have a half decent graphics card.

The Aspen Institute Economic Opportunities Program and Latinos and Society Program hosted a joint discussion, "Drivers of Opportunity: How Will Latinos Shape the Future of the American Dream?” on February 21, 2018. Panelists at the event — including Office of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s Jose Corona, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Marie Mora, Nation Waste, Inc.’s Maria Rios, The Workers Lab’s Carmen Rojas, and Marketplace’s Kimberly Adams — discussed how we can secure economic stability and mobility for Latino workers, families, and communities. The event was part of the Economic Opportunities Program’s Working in America series and the Latinos and Society Program’s Latino Economic Advancement series.

30/07/2017 #1672. A bit of tinkering with the Alfa this morning, which hasn't turned a wheel for a month now after I found that a lump of the gearbox bell housing had broken off at the middle starter motor mounting hole :-(. Hopefully it's going off to the Alfie clinic early next week to be fixed :-)
I sorted out a seat belt buckle that had been twisted around the wrong way, and fitted a missing bolt on the passenger seat adjuster, which should stop it wobbling around. I also isolated all the starter motor wires and re-connected the battery, ready for a push-started drive to the garage.
