Drifting snow

We've been having heavy rains for the last 3 days that are expected to continue onto Friday. So we may need a boat to go to work. :)

Have a great week my friends.

Þingvellir National Park, where one can practically watch Earth' powers at work. It marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which means it is here where the two main tectonic plates, The European and the Atlantic one are drifting away of each other, tearing Iceland apart. The opening rift can be seen here at the National Park

Commonly seen in rangeland areas of the western U.S. and Canada, drift fences have been used since early settler times to prevent cattle from drifting from their home range.

1/3 series maybe ? EXPLORED #43. This was painful none the least. But i am so happy with the result. Going for a more twisted effect on photographs when i have the time, as it is just so time consuming. Well i would love to know your opinions !

And thanks again everyone for supporting my stream, your all ace.

I'm still here! Just got my camera back from repairs so hopefully I'll start shooting more and posting - I miss you all. I'm desperately in need of a trip to get to some autumn shots . . . unfortunately not much of that here! I hope everyone is well.

The mist that day was just in small drifting patches. This was the end of my walk and a quick glance behind gave me another brief opportunity.

The Snow and the wind have worked together to form some spectacular snow drifts. I love the shapes that are created!

Often photographed, to the point of becoming old hat - but still makes a pleasing enough image. The JS class loco with a strangely cropped smokebox number plate drifts down towards Nanzhan from the deep mine at Erjing with a loaded coal train destined for the China Rail system.

Drift Wood on Hale Shore

Snow drifts accumulate along the shore of windswept Lake Erie. During a deep cold winter, more of the lake will freeze over, and more snow will be blown to the shores.

Having an incredible amount of reach allows you to do some unique things with a lens. Zooming in on the moon as it rises is one of them. In this shot I've shot the moon at 600mm and cropped in a little over 50%, meaning that this is more like 1300mm of reach. I've got some cool shots of the moon in full light, but I wanted to share this more moody shots where layers of clouds are drifting in front of the moon. I've given this shot a little bit of a faded look in Exposure X2 to enhance the mood. It was still very yellow at this point, and I've tried to preserve that here. You can see more images that I've taken with the lens here: bit.ly/2dU7diG or view my first look video here: bit.ly/2dn7bBP

A simple image of driftwood, washed up on the beach at Cullen in Morayshire, Scotland. I almost walked past this without photographing it, as I was in a world of my own. Glad I took the time though.

This Peachy Drift rose was unhappy in my yard, but is thriving in its new home at the farm. It's planted in the rose garden, and grows low to the ground, between the larger bushes.

We had a trip to the Most city with my friends because of a car drifting contest which took place there - it was COOOOOOOOOL!!!!!! ;-) all those skids, screeching, smoke, overtaking, speeding...WHOA!

And I guess I fell in love...you should have seen the "accessorized" cars.... My favorites - Ferrari, Dodge Viper, Porsche... ;-D

Info or: Basically, drifting is getting your car sideways down a road. Instead of a drifter causing a drift and then countering to straighten out, he will instead over-counter so his car goes into another drift. A good drifter has the ability to take five or six opposing turns without having traction at any point in time.
