For Macro Mondays theme 'Broken'. The broken shells were placed on a moss-covered rock, measured to be within the MM size limit. The largest shell was fixed in place so the snail (shell less than 1.5cm) could be added.
The title for this image was inspired by the song 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams', recorded in 1949 by Tony Bennett, then by numerous artists over the years. Then in 2004, the band Green Day released a different song that used the same title - so this was my attempt to give the image a dreamlike quality in processing.
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
Now that we're in Bavaria, let's just stay another day and go back to Schwangau to see the beautiful chapel of St. Coloman and the dreamlike panorama of the snow-covered Alpine peaks.
Normally, if I can, I avoid including a road in a landscape shot (there is also a version where I did this). But in this case I was too taken with this slightly twisted tree with its filigree crown. He just had to be in the picture.
Wo wir nun mal in Bayern sind, bleiben wir doch einfach noch einen Tag und gehen nochmal nach Schwangau zur schönen Kapelle St. Coloman und dem traumhaften Panorama der verschneiten Alpengipfel.
Normalerweise vermeide ich, wenn es sich vermeiden lässt, eine Strasse mit in eine Landschaftsaufnahme zu integrieren (es gibt auch noch eine Version, wo ich dies gemacht habe). Doch in diesem Fall hatte es mir dieser leicht verdrehte Baum mit seiner filigranen Krone zu sehr angetan. Der musste einfach mit ins Bild.

A dreamlike sunset is about to start here above the city Bautzen.
The tower you see here is a masterpiece of engineering from the year 1558. To get enough of water pressure in the city a receiver tank in the tower top was filled with the help of a waterwheel powered pump. For that, the tower needed to be higher than the highest point in the city, what is by the way 47 meters. Already 100 years before here was a similar construction made of wood, what was destroyed by a fire. I was really impressed.

Der Turm der hier zu sehen ist, ist ein Meisterwerk der Ingenieurskunst aus dem Jahre 1558. Um ausreichend Wasserdruck in der Stadt zu haben, wurde hier mit einer durch ein Wasserrad angetriebenen Pumpe ein Sammelbehälter in der Spitze des vorderen Turms befüllt. Dafür musste die Turmspitze höher sein, als der höchte Punkt in der Stadt, was im Übrigen auf 47 Meter hinaus läuft. Bereits 100 Jahre früher gab es hier eine ähnliche Konstruktion aus Holz, welche jedoch einem Feuer zum Opfer fiel. Hat mich echt beeindruckt.
On the Cuenca - Molleturo route, the first lagoons to appear are Llaviucu and the Toreadora. There you can enjoy the moorland and quinoa forests, which form dreamlike landscapes.

At the Côte d’Azur between Cannes and Saint Raphael You find the peninsula Le Dramont with a dreamlike coastline of red rocks and a very nice view to the privat island ile d'or. More of that within the next days. That photo contains of the three shots with different shutter speed. The sky, the foreground and the water.
An der Côte d’Azur zwischen Cannes und Saint Raphael liegt die Halbinsel Le Dramont mit einer traumhaften Küstenlandschaft bestehend aus roten Felsen und einem tollen Blick auf die Privatinsel ile d'or. Mehr dazu in den nächsten Tagen. Das Foto besteht aus drei Aufnahmen mit unterschiedlichen Belichtungszeiten. Himmel, Vordergrund und Wasser.

Hike through the so-called "gate" (Tor) leads along the south walls of the Dachstein. Wonderfully rugged cliffs, enveloped in clouds. A dreamlike mountain backdrop appears. Occasionally you can also hear the threatening rumble of falling rocks. I wish you all a great weekend.
I'm standing more than one hour in a heavy wind on top of mt. Gohrisch betting against myself. What is going to happen first ? That the sun is breaking through the clouds, on its way behind the horizon ? Or that the thunderstorm, what is circeling around me all the time quite threatening, is washing me off this rocks ? I had, how unexpected, a clear fave and I'm very happy, that this scenario finally did happen. In the end, that moment, what was diving everything in a dreamlike light, did last three minutes at the most. Enough to say, this was more than worth it.
Ich stehe mehr als eine Stunde lang in heftigem Wind auf dem Gipfel des Gohrisch und schließe mit mir selbst Wetten ab. Was wird wohl als erstes eintreten ? Das die Sonne auf ihrem Weg hinter den Horizont die Wolken durchbricht und sich mir zeigt ? Oder das mich das Unwetter, welches die ganze Zeit bedrohlich um mich herum wandert, von den Felsen spült. Ich hatte, wie unerwartet, einen klaren Favorit und ich bin sehr froh, dass dieses Szenario dann auch eingetreten ist. Am Ende dauerte dieser Moment, der alles in ein traumhaftes Licht tauchte, maximal 3 Minuten. Genug um zu sagen, dass hat sich mehr als gelohnt.

A dreamlike sunset behind the historical Old town of Dresden. The panorama is starting on the right with the operahouse Semperoper. In the centre You see the court chapel and next to it the city palace. I've seen this view so many time and I'm still impressed.
Ein traumhafter Sonnenuntergang hinter der historischen Altstadt von Dresden. Das Panorama beginnt auf der rechten Seite mit der Semperoper. In der Mitte steht die Hofkirche und daneben das Schloß. Ich habe diesen Anblick schon so oft bewundert und ich bin immernoch beeindruckt.
This was my second trip to Kenya. The first one entailed going to both Kenya and Tanzania which is common. One of the options was to see Lake Nakuru and the flamingos. I didn't see it on my first trip and I didn't want to miss it this time.
In person, the lake doesn't appear this dreamlike, but in a photograph is appears almost like a heavenly body fit for the beautiful flamingos.
Late afternoon I suddenly realised there was a chance of a sunset so dashed down to the beach. There wasn't much wet sand to play with, and all the clouds were up channel away from the sun. For some reason they were all quite vertical so made these quite beautiful patterns. The sky never seems to disappoint. It had a dreamlike quality, so Martha's Dream by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis is perfect.
