I've been press-ganged into doing the illustration work for our company Christmas card again this year, and had to bring in Photoshop/the graphics tablet. I wonder if you can name this man I've drawn, mainly from a rare photo of him (combined with a painting or two). We watched a movie about him at the weekend, which was fascinating to watch - will explain when you know who it is! Any guesses?

The pre-dawn morning of May 25th provided me with the most stable skies that I have experienced so far this year. The previous morning's Mars was a boiling sphere of red and no real details could be seen. But now the Red Planet wavered only mildly in my eyepiece at over 300-power, often showing sharpness rarely seen under my skies. The South Polar cap was pointed in Earth’s direction and was distinct (south is up in the drawing). Mare Erythraeum dominated the south while Mare Acidalium darkened the northern hemisphere, with the bright desert region of Chryse in-between. The Eye-of-Mars (Solis Lacus) appeared as a dark bump extending to the right of Mare Eryhraeum. I live for stable skies like I had the morning of May 25th. I only hope that such nights will continue to appear, on occasion, over my house as Mars grows in size over the next couple of months.

Preparation in another food drawing~
Among all the food drawings, I guess I like those noodles and spaghetti the most, may be I have feelings to those beauty of curves.
I loved the life drawing course I took this winter. I have a lot to learn, but it was amazingly helpful. In this one the length of the back should be shorter as she's leaning forward. But I can see that now.
I'm calling this one Beat Down, because if you stay out in the high gulf winds long enough, that's exactly how you feel.
