Ieri pomeriggio (Domenica) sono stato in campagna dai suoceri . Come sovente capita in siffatte circostanze, dopo ottime libagioni prandiali mi sono dedicato assiduamente all'Arte Marziale del Fancazzeggio Fumettoso. Spaparanzato sulla suoceral verandina, con un occhio alle querce ed al solicello pomeridiano mi sono concesso di giocherellar-scarabocchiare senza alcuno scopo preciso.

Vista la temperie Mangofila che mi ispira in questo periodo e sollecitato da un recente, proficuo scambio di punti di vista su FaceBook con l'amico Fabio Gianello (super-esperto fumettistico multi tasking ) mi sono concentrato non tanto sullo stile quanto sul ritmo e sulla costruzione della tavola...

Vista la mia colossale 'gnùrànsaaa sull'argomento mi sono divertito a comporre alcune tavole a fumetti Manga giocando con alcuni degli stilemi più classici che mi hanno colpito nel corso della fruizione di Fumetti e Cartoni Made in Japan.

Nessuna trama predefinita: ho semplicemente lasciato che mi fluissero dalla penna un tot di situazioni, inquadrature, luoghi comuni che stazionavano pigramente nella mia memoria:

il taglio inconsueto delle vignette, il PPP di occhi intensi, l'imbarazzo espresso con semplici puntini di sospensione a galleggiare in grossi balloons ellittici verticali, fonemi mugolanti "MH!", "Ah!", "Heìn!" piccoli grugniti, respiretti affannati che mi avevano già colpito assai nelgi Anime... cose così, una Miscellanea di Schott Grafico-Manga-Autoprodotta...

Ne sono uscite le tre tavole che vi propongo. Mi rendo conto che, in questo stream of consciousness fumettistico, ho prodotto qualcosa che potrebbe raccontare una mini storia (o una parte di essa), solo che non ho la più pallida idea di quale sia, questa storia!

Volete cimentarvi in un gioco di immaginazione-meditazione? Prendete questi tre racconti/non racconti come se fossero dei Koan Zen e fatemi sapere cosa ne è venuto fuori!

Lesson #1 with Misty Mawn.

This is my 2nd ever portrait drawing.

I have just finished reading, 'Hang a Thousand Trees with Ribbons', by Ann Rinaldi, about Phillis Wheatley, the first woman black poet to get published.

This was my interpretation of her. Although, it probably looks more like a man, no? oh well, practice, practice, practice, right Misty!! smile.

I have to work on the eye thing and the nose thing. Especially the eyes, they give me trouble.

Hope I did him justice - capturing both the baby look and those burgeoning muscles was a little bit of a challenge. I think I got it... :-)

Sitting in yet another coffee shop, this one in Sears at the mall where we went to buy a new electric heater for our bedroom so we can effectively pre-heat the room every night to an acceptable temperature for sex. I love our new heater.
