Someone asked me, as I archive all of my work, if I forgot a drawing. It's more like the second I saw it again I remembered it. This drawing was for a record review for Audio Magazine. I did illustrations for their record reviews for 16 years. I completely forgot about this drawing until I saw it again. It made me laugh.
I figured I might as well do something with this sketch. It was originally supposed to be entered into PUDDLE's contest uh.... in 2011. I kind of didn't have time to finish it.
I have no idea what direction I'm going for. o_o; I need to learn to plan before I start inking. I'm so impatient. >_<;
These are much looser in approach. In the life drawing group we'd do 10 short 1 minute poses then a 20 minute one. As these are more exercises to get your hand and eye warmed up I like to use the same sheet of paper and simply clear the drawing off with a chamois cloth and draw over the previous one.
I'm a bit undecided which one to enter as there's something about the pose I like on the left and the angles on the right. Any help would be appreciated!

It's a really big drawing and gives me 90's vibes 💕✨ .
I've started to draw (again) and this is an osprey I did yesterday.
There are a few more on Instagram
And now a blog post with details:
Seems I've been away a while. Kinda miss this place. Here's a drawing I've just finished up. It'll most likely become a small painting. That pencil there, I love it!! It's feels amazing!! A whole mess of them (like a lifetime supply) magically appeared in my box of art supplies a few weeks back. I didn't order them, but they were just stacked from top to bottom filling up all the gaps and holes. I figured they ran out of bubble wrap and decided to use boxes of pencils as cushioning. Either that or god is telling me he wants me to draw a lot more often. I'm convinced it's the latter. Thanks for the free pencils god!

11/2 hour drawing. I'm about to start doing some more painting doing some longer poses over 2 sessions roughly around 4 hours each day which I'm really looking forward to.
I've been using General's pastel chalks which you can't get here in the UK I have to ask folk from the states to bring them over. They're a really hard chalk which I find amazing to draw with, other pastels tend to be too crumbly and smudgy.
