Exercise # 6 in Pen & Ink Sketching by Frank J. Lohan

Joel Bruyere is the bass player and backup vocalist for the Band Thousand Foot Krutch. I was pumped when I found out TFK was going to be at Lifest (huge four day long concert with a ton of my favorite artists) this year, and I immediately set off to find some good pictures of the members of TFK. I couldn't find many pictures of Joel, let alone good ones. I had found a few however, but they were too small and pixelated for me to jot down any details, so I settled for this one. It was a bit hard to get the light on the side of his face right next to the darker shading on his cheekbone, but I'm happy with the results. I had a bit of trouble with the eyes as well, being that Joel's eyes are shaped differently then most people I've drawn. The hair wasn't too hard, but it sure is a bit -er... unique :P I usually have trouble getting the lighting on dark shirts like this one right as well, but I think I'm getting the hang of it, cause it looks pretty good to me! This drawing took about 5 or 6 hours, a bit longer than I thought it would. I can't wait to give TFK the drawings! Well, o about 20 drawings and 6 or 7 more bands to go!
The next tower along is close by a Victorian buttress put in place after large arch ways were inserted when the railway was pushed through the wall. Drawing the tower and buttress was a lesson in distinguishing the different dates of work. On the right the Victorian work uses regular sized and neatly cut blocks. These were done by machine. They are carefully graded in size from very small at the top to very large at the bottom. The older stonework is very irregular and has wide joints between the blocks.
Another drawing of Pumpkin-kun. The symbol on his right sleeve is based from Bleach. It's the symbol of the eighth squad. Enjoy!
Estos dibujos son unos que ya hice en 2008 y que me gustaron mucho como salieron, están hechos a lápiz, coloreados a lápices de colores y el borde es a rotulador. Espero que os gusten, hagáis encargos y comentéis.

These drawings are some that I did in 2008 and which I liked as much left, are made in pencil, colored pencils and color edge is felt. I hope that you like, and do assignments comment.

Mixed media on paper
Using mixed media trying to figure out composition for a future painting, really prefered this more simplistic drawing where the flower is acting like a locket with a hidden nude on the inside. Working between realism and surrealism trying to find the right balance of expression without losing composition.
Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
The cathedral brings back memories of being child, when I first entered the cathedral as a youngster the colours that surrounded me inside were magnificant. I wanted to bring the colour aspect into the picture but in different way so i used my photography to do this.
Created using a Drawing Pen and combined digitally with a photograph
This drawing shows the arrangement of the rotating parts of a steam turbine generator train. This turbine is unusual because the condenser is an axial flow type, and the generator sits on the turbine's upstream side instead of its downstream side. Many important support systems are not shown which make up the "balance of plant" or BOP equipment.

Ink On Paper
Adobe Photoshop CS3
I used another one of my aunt's figurines as my subject for this drawing. We had lunch and dinner at their place last Sunday and I did the pencil sketch there after doing the line art of Krung Thep . I decided to ink it tonight and put some color and texture using photoshop. I swear to God, textures can do wonders to a photograph/drawing! I absolutely love it.
In other news, it looks like New York won't happen for me. At least not anytime soon. Should I go to Tokyo instead? :p

I had a couple of hours home alone today... 5 to be exact..
All I did was art work and sing to music... This isn't finished in the slightest bit. It felt good. I haven't done any drawings or art of work in so long and I haven't really let myself just sing to whatever as loud as I like, in a really long time. I just enjoyed myself.
I've got pencil lead on my face, ear, and all over my right hand. I've got sharpie on my right hand as well... Guess what?! It's worth the mess and time.
Do you ever take time to just relax, even if it means doing something that you enjoy?
You should because it will help you a lot. It does a lot for a persons health and attitude. If you can do something so you relax and let things go, so your attitude can change, so you can feel content.
Drawing, singing, and listening to music really just helped me forget the time and just enjoy what I was doing. Of course I'm a bit antsy to finish it, but it will be awhile before I do because I haven't decided all that is going into this drawing, besides more then is already there.
Sharpies are my choice for coloring. Until I get to the tree, I can't decide if I will fill that in or leave it, I kind of like it as is. And so you know whats on the left side of the picture is Hebrew not 7x5n like my younger brother thought it was. It's Hebrew for "Angel".
Sadly, I don't have much more to say. So, I will leave you with the thoughts I have shared and a picture of,... Well... A picture I'm working on.
