Life drawing from the 9/17/11 Gallery Girls Art Salon (Steampunk/ Edwardian Brass theme) at The Westerfield Mansion.
Been trying to get back into drawing again so for now just doing little doodles to get back into free handing stuff. 111/365
Another silly envelope...
I don't want to do anything actually good, since I'm sending it through the mail, but I like to do these while sitting and chatting, kind of like other people knit, and I have to sort of make them family- and postmen-accessible.
My grandmother saw this and said, "Do you think Julian will realise that this is you holding him on a leash?!" She is so droll.

This is a pencil drawing of my dad and I for his birthday. Combine to show that he is a part of me that will always stand by my side.
Seth Morrison is the Guitarist for Skillet. He's new to the band, and Skillet's new album Rise is the first he's played in. He's definitely as good as Ben Kasica was, and he's got some insane guitar solos in a few of Skillet's new songs.
Because he is newer to the band, he was quite hard to find a picture of. Most pictures I use to draw are posed photoshoots, but this time, I had to resort to live photos. Like my Trevor Mcnevan drawing, (which was also a live photo) I found it to be easier than posed photos. I don't know why, in fact it seems like they would be harder, but it wasn't. I'm really pleased with this one. I really like the suit, and the face is pretty good considering the angle the picture was taken at. Well, now onto John Cooper!
My wife and enjoy the rehearsal concerts at the Green Music Center, Weill Hall, Sonoma State University in Sonoma Co., CA. These are quick sketches where I was more concerned with movement and spontaneity.

Birthdate: November 10. Nathan-kun is the protagonist of my manga, Over Flow. I love Nathan, although, I've been putting off my work on Over Flow. Sadly, I only made it until the 4th page.
What's Over Flow about? Here it is:
Title: Over Flow
Genre: Fantasy
Nathan doesn’t get angry, because every time he does, something terrible happens to the person he’s angry at. That’s why the other orphans hate him. When Nathan was younger, a tragic event happened to his best friend because of a trivial misunderstanding. Now, he vows not to get angry even if it means the others would take advantage of him. Nathan really doesn’t have a choice, but to give in on every bully’s whim. Being a 12-year old doesn’t even help, because he believes nobody wouldn’t want to adopt an “old kid.”
Nathan’s miserable life soon changes when a mysterious man called Kuza appears. He claims to be Nathan’s godfather and takes Nathan with him. Nathan soon discovers that there is a different world outside the orphanage, a world where mana, the “life force” can be manipulated. Nathan learns from his godfather that mana is also the reason for his strange power. Kuza then trains Nathan to control his mana in order to release his anger in a healthy way and without actually hurting anyone. Nathan has to endure Kuza’s harsh training, while Kuza on the other hand has to be prepared for anything, just in case something goes wrong. They’ll have to stand each other or both of them will end up killing each other.
Lunchtime life drawing session at work. 90 seconds, done with zen brush app on iPad (using a 1 pixel brush). I like the way the pen bleeds when i stop moving the stylus - it has a bit of a felt marker feel.

Celebrating a brand new year!
Hey folks, take out your funny hats your magic fireworks and your friends out in the town and stare at the glimmering lights shall we!!
This is the 2nd drawing I did with the newly made walnut ink. Since the ink was too watery for my 1st sketch "Bottles of Walnut Ink", www.flickr.com/photos/49028620@N04/5043027045/in/photostr... I simmered the 10 ounces Marie had given me to 5 ounces. It was much improved. I only had to dip my pen 4 times for this drawing. The color was a darker brown.
This is a quick sketch of my husband John. October 1, 2010
The process of making the walnut ink is documented in 3 watercolors, the most recent: "Making Walnut Ink" www.flickr.com/photos/49028620@N04/5043652380/
