In hindsight, I probably coulda skipped the flames, eh?

I really need to bust out the drawing tablet and learn to vectorize this stuff.

I see Your face in every sunrise

The colors of the morning are inside Your eyes

The world awakens in the light of the day

I look up to the sky and say

You're beautiful

I see Your power in the moonlit night

Where planets are in motion and galaxies are bright

We are amazed in the light of the stars

It's all proclaiming who you are

You're beautiful

I see you there hanging on a tree

You bled and then you died and then you rose again for me

Now you are sitting on Your heavenly throne

Soon we will be coming home

You're beautiful

The model was a beautiful dancer, lean yet muscular. A perfect balance between strength and grace.

This is a detail of a portrait drawing of the daughter of one of my managers from work.

Drawing children is maybe the most terrifying mode of portraiture to me, because

a)you're dealing with a physical appearance which is not as defined as an adult's

b)you're dealing with parents who, being parents, have an acute knowledge of their children's appearance and as such can be very hard to please (though this is not the case with this drawing)

This was pretty successful if I may say so myself. The work on the face was a definite exercise in letting suggestion do more of the work than actual definition via marks.

You can get this one on a shirt or a silly little box.

A stoneware seahorse on our pool deck was the inspiration for this. Drawn with micron pens and colored pencils.
