I decided to draw an office chair and see how my chops are at still life.
Aside from the fact that the proportions are way off, the drawing is pretty good. The back rest is too big in comparison to the seat.
Some initial measurements wouldn't be bad next time.
I love watching pigeon mating dances.
Love, love, love.
They puff up their necks and drag their tail-feathers, and they look so silly.

I tended to like drawing fighter aircraft, because the big ships were always a challenge to me. I think it's because I could understand what everything on a fighter did, having spent hours trying to figure out duct routing for the jets and so on. This is one I drew probably in the 11th or 12th grade, after I had finally broken free of graph paper and straight edges. I'm showing an improved grasp of shading and form, though it's still very planar.
In terms of influences, it's hard to say...probably a bit of Macross and long-standing conventions I'd developed. The raked-back antenna behind the cockpit, the shape of the tail, and the wing placement are pretty standard.
Oh, I just remembered that this was one of the first ships I purposely had "leaning forward" a bit because it looked more aggressive! I would have to adjust the angle of attack of the main wing though to make this work for real.

Celtic art and cats. You know I'm all over that!

This is an original Production Drawing of Captain Hook from a Disney Studios animated commercial for Epcot center. The untrimmed sheet measures 10.5" x 12.5" and is in excellent condition. The image of the character is about 7" tall. The sheet has three peg holes and production writing along the bottom edge of the sheet

Recently I came across an innovated form of art called Zentangle.
Among other things Zentangle is a meditative practice recommended for relaxation and for stress relief . Rather like a doodle the emphasis is on relaxing and allowing the patterns to form with out too much contrivance. Usually rendered in black ink after a while I tended to prefer the addition of coloured pencils. Here is one of my attempts at Zantangles or art work inspired by Zentangles.

I hardly ever draw architecture or landscapes so these aren't exciting, but it was good to challenge myself
This is what my vespa looks like at night when it sneaks out of the garage to fight crime.Im planning on cleaning this up in illustrator at some point. I am such a nerd.
While I was drawing this, a friend pointed out Doctor Monster's Scoter transformer: flickr.com/photos/zom-bot/2590463110/
I guess great nerds think alike.
