Had a nice weekend away at Cave B Resort / Winery. Smoke from forest fires hung heavy in the air and impacted visibility, but luckily it cleared a bit.
Les dernières lumières du jour embrasent l’horizon, tandis qu’un chemin se perd dans les champs sous un ciel rempli de feu et de couleurs.
The last light of the day setting the horizon ablaze, while a quiet path disappears into the fields beneath a sky filled with fire and color.
I literally stood here for at least half an hour, having my family wait for me at MegaWeb just to see if the color changes to rainbow colors. But it stayed like this through the whole night. Silly? Should I be happy with this image? If you do, then I will. No matter what, it's still fun experience.
Thanks for viewing!
Faves & comments are purely appreciated as always! Aloha!!
We decided to walk to the Glacier and make the most of the light evenings. It looked to be an hours walk but turned in to a 10km hike. Not the best picture, i lost colour in the middle of the shot.
The old-world architecture of the Canadian government buildings in Ottawa contrast with the modern architecture of today's office buildings seen in the very back.
The first real proper poppies I have seen all year! And certainly the only poppy field I have seen so far. I saw this last week but haven't had the chance to get to it until yesterday. The weather was pretty rubbish but it always seems to change for the good once I decide not to go out, so this time I wanted to just take the risk of nothing happening and Im so glad I did. For about 5 minutes there was a gap in the clouds and the sun shone through lots of rays and a shaft of light. I also managed to capture a rainbow behind me!
A dramatic sunset casts a thin orange-red glow over the peaceful vineyards. Nestled among the rows, a small vintner’s house stands quietly, soaking in the last light of the day.

Mammatus clouds in the sky vanished, I focused on the tree to create a still more mysterious, apocalyptic atmosphere.
Unique moments that will be marked forever in my memories.

There are landscapes and there are landscapes, but rarely do you come across landscapes that will grip you, move you and make sure you never forget it. The Old Man of Storr is probably one of those landscapes. We reached this gorgeous setting after a 8km trek through a hot summer evening; the path to get to it was arduous, almost vertical at some points, but we persevered. We moaned, we groaned but I refused to give up. And when I saw this scene, I knew it was all worth it.
Another from Derwent Reservoir last week. This time given the mono treatment to enhance the rather dramatic contrast given by the last blast of sunlight before it dropped below the horizon.
Lots of thunder and lightning! We are preparing to take cover at our campsite! Saint Johns, Arizona.
Horse at Feeding Trough at Rock Ledge Ranch. This is just on the south side of Garden of the Gods. I took about 30 pictures during the first part of the "magic hour" and walked away thinking I had some good shots. As I was walking back to my truck, the sky suddenly transformed into this amazing crimson hue and a horse showed up. So I ended up in a near sprint setting my tripod and camera back up again. The sky only looked like this for about 2 minutes.

Slieve Commedagh has two summits , a false summit where the hut on the mourne wall is on the top right of the picture and behind where I am taking the shot. when you first climb up it the hut apears to be the summit but realy it is over to your right a 100m or so there isn't realy much in it but I had a wander about to check out the amazing veiws from up there. Slieve Commedagh is Northern Irelands second tallest Mountain the tallest is Slieve Donrd just next to it it You can do both mountain peaks at the same day they are joined at the neck so to speak!
