I am just back from a photography adventure, we had amazing weather, the only place where we got rain was at sunset at the north rim of the grand canyon.
Storm clouds, Rainbow and warm sunlight at sunset all came together to create this dramatic scene at the Cape Royal viewpoint on the North Rim of Grand Canyon national Park in Arizona

At Kurnell, near Cronulla on the east coast of NSW - an overcast day with a big surf running. This isn't one of the big waves, but I liked the drama and the colour.

I took this picture in 2013 in the World Financial Center of Shanghai. This picture provides me with a strange feeling of powerness.
At this time I was still shooting with a hybrid camera (Sony Nex), that's how I started to be passionate about photography. I now have a Nikon D5300 and I'm trying to improve myself by finding some inspirational pictures on FlickR.
Taken a couple of weeks back I had been meaning to visit this location on a nice evening. I had first checked out this location about a year and half back in the pouring rain but on this evening it was a much more pleasant view. The weather on this day had been pretty changeable so I was hoping for some dramatic clouds which I seem to have gotten but the real surprise was finding this field of crops had the odd poppy sticking up. I hunted around the field for the best poppy and in the end got this one that was nicely placed between the gap in the trees at the bottom of the hill. I then took a few shots of this composition, experimenting with how good the crops looked after a gust of wind but in the end this more static shot appealed to me the most.

Took this one in the early morning light using the flash on my phone as a back light. I was using my kit lens but mounted backward with an adapter. Had no idea there was so much interesting texture on the inside of a snail shell.
Another Lighthouse, but the exact opposite side of the Country to the last image....
A trip to shoot Storm Agnes as she rolled into the UK, we headed up to Whitehaven arriving about an hour before sunset, the weather had suggested very strong winds and rain and with that the possibility of some big waves over the harbour walls here.
As it transpired the waves just did not materialise at all but the sky was absolutely epic with thick black cloud rolling through the area just in front of what appreared to be blue skies and wispy sirrus clouds behind it, I'd never experienced a sky quite like that before.
The rain was quite relentless but the forecast suggested a break in it right around sunset so I just set up and covered the camera over to wait for a clear opportunity, thankfully we managed several shots while we were getting a good soaking.
I've not posted this image before, this was one of the first shots I took that evening before the blackness truly rolled in but you can see it creeping in from the right, the high winds meant that I really didn't need a crazy shutter speed to scatter the clouds across the sky and the lower speed also allowed for more detail in the slower moving dark areas. I liked the contrast in this image of the 2 sides of the sky with some nice calming colour on the left and a sense of what was to take over from it on the right.

Lake Popera is located in the upper Vallòn Popèra / Arzalpe, halfway between the Berti refuge and the Sentinella pass, dominated by an exceptional crode circus belonging to the Popera group. Its waters heralded the storm that would break out shortly thereafter.

Aug 2020 started off in my little corner of Southeastern Ohio with some dramatic stormy skies, followed by an equally dramatic and beautiful sunset. As we roll into Fall I will miss the dramatic skies of Summer. The photos in this series are in no particular order.

This photo was taken in the main Guadalupe Church. I found this shot very dramatic so I did a BW. Very gourgeous church there.
Beautiful bridge in Spain,Mérida. Last Tuesday I went to Spain to travel a bit. When i got there I found this gorgeous bridge!
