NS 1065, the S&A, leads northbound manifest train NS 14Z through Stuarts Draft, VA as the train passes the famed N&W signals that in just a few months time would be replaced for “modern” signals. Even though the signals themselves might be gone, the memories and photos of Stuarts Draft will live on.
This is an early "first draft" version of the Vector starfighter.
Although the finished fighter came out very different, I did carry over the nose section as the twin hulls of the Vector.

Round one was won by Kyle with his 'spaceship'. Round two, after building his third 'space pimp' goes to Evan... and (Adrian rule) buddy built by me.
What's Simon Drafting you ask? for those those that forgot the rules:
Rule 1: Simon makes the rules

Rule 3: Prior to Drafting the sets, we must play with the set and do an Alt Build.
Rule 4: Simon gets to decide which alt build is 'the best.'
Rule 5: Simon reserves the right to keep said build.
Rule 6: For winning, the best build, as determined by Simon, gets first pick.
Rule 7: The best build, ALSO gets to play for free.
Rule 8: Simon can win, but can't go first.
Rule 9: The Adrian rule: If you're done, audience members may jump in and build with your remaining parts - if that build is deemed better than the original drafter's build, that drafter forfeits the spot to the clearly better builder.

My father's F.P.I. horse hair desk brush and paper weight from his patent drafting career. The paper weight is one of a few he made and the brush features a twine job he did on the handle. After that much effort it makes sense to mark the items with your initials.
the word "draft" has a lot of meanings! A draft of wind can blow some paper drafts. A draft horse can be found in the fields or Uncle Sam can call up a military draft. Old school drafters would use a drafting table with a slide rule. Even older is a draft of beer or ale, straight from the barrel. I drafted a few tablescraps of these meanings with a carpenter's pencil on some graph paper.

These Roman numerals on the bow of the Picton Castle are useful for determining the draft (or draught) of the ship. The water line is right at X and the upper numbers are reflected over the numerals I - IV.
