HOME OF THE THIRD

The Draft House is a small group of #PublicHouses which aims to do for #beer what our culture has done for #food and #wine over the past twenty years. Namely, we take its provenance, cellaring and serving seriously. We celebrate choice and quality with an extra-ordinary range of strange and wonderful brews.

"Britain is full of public houses of all shapes, sizes and varieties, but I felt we'd lost something special in recent years from British life and I wanted to provide a place that recaptured my idea of the perfect public house."

#TheDraftHouse is a charming place where you can - alone or with others - experience great beer, good food, interesting people and great conversation. It's a refuge for the soul for everyone who values civility in today's world. It's always genuine, staffed by people who love their job, packed with interesting stuff, plays good music and is frequented by people just like you.

This horse has all the markings of a draft horse, a farm work animal usually used to pull carriages or equipment. It has large hooves and is built strong. The coloring looks like The American Cream, the only draft breed indiginous to the United States. It is considered rare because of a genetic condition that has reduced its numbers. Minimal texture added to reduce sunlight glare. If any flickr members recognize the horse breed, let me know because I'm not sure. Chosen as cover photo on front page of Horses, Ponies, and Foals, Sept. 2019.

Towards the end, a mild draft... the pollen spills onto the tender petals.

They are so fragile...

I photographed the 'demise' of this beauty in the studio, look out for next!

Again a 'study!

Anemone coronaria is a species of flowering plant in the genus Anemone, native to the Mediterranean region.

This comp 'in camera'... just how I like it!

Each time I think... that's it, there's only so much you can do with flowers... and yet again and again, I'll see something new.

Being creative is not a choice... it is an urge in me.

Take care, be safe!

Have a wonderful day, filled with love and thank you for your ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated, M, (*_*)

Thanks to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated. 😊

Part of my lengthy chase of an early morning 16T between Buena Vista and Compton, Va brought me to the small borough of Stuarts Draft. Here, the train hustles north at track speed, passing one of the many ex-N&W signals that still guard the sidings on the Shenandoah Line.

The sun rises in the Shenandoah Valley over Stuarts Draft as the now fallen N&W protect the control point.

A trifecta of white pelicans glide gracefully across the sky. I woke up this morning with urge to fly. What I wouldn't give to be able to soar like a bird amongst the clouds.

Excerpt from rom.on.ca:

NARRATOR: The Winnie-the-Pooh books demonstrate a wonderful interplay between image and text. Milne and Shepard worked closely together, sending drafts back and forth – and forth and back! The final result? Milne’s words and Shepard’s drawings made the stories jump from the page.

NARRATOR: In this drawing, Shepard shows Pooh sitting on a stone in the middle of a stream. Mr. Milne, indulge us with your related text.

MILNE: “The sun was so delightfully warm, and the stone, which had been sitting in it for a long time, was so warm, too that Pooh had almost decided to go on being Pooh in the middle of the stream for the rest of the morning, when he remembered Rabbit.”

NARRATOR: Now, look at Shepard’s drawing – a happy Pooh, basking in the sun, content to do nothing. Image and word work together to conjure a scene...you know, this is turning into a proper tour.
