He'd probably hate me for this but I found it today...Paul Cornell circa 1984 - now where's that anorak? To be fair we were all much geekier back then - like Douggie's white stilletoes!

a soon-to-be departing (a student i've never even taught) brought this to me as a thank you for being a "great" teacher to my students, and for giving a bit of advice or two over the last year.
my job. wow.
When I picked the kids up from school the rumour was they were filming Dr Who in Victoria Park so we all ran down to have a look. I only had my little camera which doesnt have much of a zoom so no close ups. I managed to make out two different scenes be filmed. One where there was football being played and another where the Dr falls out of the Tardis. I also got to see the Tardis being set up and dismantled. The most exciting thing to happen in Canton for yonks!

I had my sister knit me a Dr. Who (Tom Baker) scarf. She finished it up while she was home for Spring Break. I scrounged up bits to complete the look.

OK, I'm hooked- I never really watched Dr Who before this new season, the fifth since the series was resurrected in the mid 2000s- the old series of the 60 and 70 seemed so cheezy and outdated. But this new season the new doctor, the eleventh, played by 27-year-old Matt Smith, currently has me enthralled.
Aside from being good-looking, in a skinny, offbeat sort-of way, I love the personality of The Doctor- intelligent, confident and full of gusto and ingenuity. I wish I had that kind of personality. Anyway, they even had an episode on BBC America this weekend (which was running a marathon of Dr Who) that considered "Vampires in Venice," and how could I pass by a show like that?
I got this for my man as part of his 25 days. It has sensors in him so when he moves around a table he does not fall off or bum in to things. When he comes close he says "Exterminate"
All the cut and paste ornaments are intentionally simplified....there isn't the time to get fancy pants with them since I started this project a bit late.
This was taken a few years ago in the town of Llangollen in Wales. They had the Dr Who Exhibition there for many years and it is to this the sign refers.
