Enjoying the last heat wave of the year, at an old jetty at Shoreline Park.
Mountain View, Ca. October, 2020.
On a snowy Sunday morning, this veteran dozer starts its day of cleaning off the Jamestown Sub as it heads west from Fargo.
More wabi-sabi, and yet another tulip; there appears to be no end to these tulips, as I've got another dozed or so in this batch, and two more batches coming up right behind them!
What I like here is the way the petals seem to almost swirl around the curving stem, as if it were doing the twist, pointing to the two top corners, and those blue "eyes" in the pistils.
The result of a multi-image focus stack, this image should reward pretty close examination. Maximum viewing size on your computer can be found by opening the image in a separate window, making that window maximum size, typing the letter "L" on the keyboard, and then clicking the cursor as long as a '+' appears in it, typically twice.
If you find this image to your liking, you can find more wabi-sabi - and an account of my understanding of the meaning of that term - in my wabi-sabi album, more tulips in my Tulips album, and more dancing flowers in my Tiny Dancers album.
BTW, I've taken to putting a white rim around these images on black because, on my iPhone flickr app, it is otherwise difficult to discern the image's edges. I made it tiny because, while large mats look lovely on my desktop monitor, they make it hard for my tired old eyes to view an image on my iPhone's small screen.
Even when he doesn't have to be, he's always on watch. We live in the middle of nowhere and he's always on guard.
Drago and Dozer in a rare unmoving moment. Actually Dozer was starting to turn his head so his snout is blurry.
This male parakeet was having a doze in the late afternoon sunshine. Even though there are plenty of these birds I've not found them easy to capture as they tend to sit quite high in the trees amongst all the twiggage.
Detail shot of a heavily corroded bulldozer seen in the boatyard at Hastings harbour.
The lines and shapes of this abstract accidentally mimic some of those in my photo of last week called 'RLH 2'.

A more modern and slightly futuristic take on Lego set 4950, The Loader Dozer. Despite being born the same year the sets were released which meant I was never able to own any of the sets, they always have a special place in my heart since the rock raiders books at the library and YouTube videos in the mid to late 2000's. Here's a tribute to one of the sets. I'm planning on doing some more in there future. Also credit for the Front loader goes to Fuku Saku whose instructions I bought on brick vault.

Jericho always got anxious before games. It was different from dueling. If they lost a duel, it was just themselves they let down. However, the idea of letting down other? It triggered some primal fear deep inside. If Jericho messed up, the rest of the team would say it was okay, but Jericho would *know* they were disappointed. They would /know/ how let down they were no matter what kind words they said.
This is what drove the little lion to stay behind after practice, eventually dozing off after practice. Unfortunately, they would wake up at 3AM and realize they were locked out for the night and definitely out past curfew... So they quietly stayed n the locker room and snuck back out an hour after the doors opened- claiming they had gotten up for early practice.
I captured this shot near Sint-Jacobs during an afternoon walk at the Gentse Feesten. The man looked like he needed a break—perhaps after a long night or during a pause between events. Sitting with his umbrella on his lap and his head tilted back, he seemed caught between resting and dozing off. These small, quiet moments are also part of the festival—not only the music and crowds but everything in between. They all contribute to the overall atmosphere.
BNSF snow dozer 940027 (former Great Northern X-7300) heads west at Bena, Minn. on the W-SUPCSL1-28 with 2649-2836 for power. The job was plowing out the Lakes Sub between Brookston and Cass Lake.
..... some more of the marine algae I was watching from the end of the rickety peer on Mull. I think this is what they began to look like as I dozed off ....
There were several horses ready for work at the Wine Cup Cattle Company on this cold morning. This little girl, appropriately named "Winter", seemed to enjoy checking on them.
