Taken at wonderful Gullfoss waterfall in Iceland. Even more wonderful, when you are there at a mid-summer night - alone.

A view from my ground on the bank of the Annacloy/Quoile river.

I have posted quite a few pictures from this precise spot over the years. Different seasons and water levels - I have an album of these pictures: www.flickr.com/photos/conall/albums/72157666994446424

Today the water level is quite low - That is likely to change over next day or so with the rain we are expecting tonight and tomorrow from the remnants of tropical storm Humberto as it gets to our side of the Atlantic.

Here's the McKenzie a little downstream from the falls I stopped to look at by the icy stairs. It's a beautiful river but hard to get a good angle for a photo. At least the light was a little more consistent here than it was on the falls. You can kind of see the bottom of the falls at the top of this image.

The Spokane River, downstream of Canada Island. Lots of things for residents and visitors to see and do in downtown Spokane, but we only had time for a short walk from a legendary hotel.

While waiting for the “Instagrammers” to leave the main waterfall, I took this photo of the amazing colours on the downstream side of the bridge.

Stood in the middle of the river in my wellies and paranoid about my tripod falling over! I used Live View for the first time to frame the shot as I couldn't get to my eyepiece (without serious risk of falling in) and I'm quite impressed - something I will definitely be using more in the future. Shot using just a couple of ND Grads only - my full ND wasn't required as it was pretty dark and dull down there.

Fall color in a mix of colors along the Lynn Camp Prong in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fall was short this year, and the color didn't last long. When I saw this display from up on the trail I had to make my way down the steep river banks to get down to this spot. This was the best color I found in the park.

The Crescent City Connection (CCC), formerly the Greater New Orleans (GNO) Bridge, is a pair of cantilever bridges that carry U.S. Highway 90 Business. over the Mississippi River in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. They are tied as the fifth-longest cantilever bridges in the world. Each span carries four general-use automobile lanes; additionally the westbound span has two reversible HOV lanes across the river. It is the farthest downstream bridge on the Mississippi River. It is also the widest and most heavily traveled bridge on the lower Mississippi.
