I made it. After SFO, where I got through Immigration and Customs surprisingly quickly, I went to the Domestic terminal which was closeby and checked in my luggage. Another 5.5 hours, and I finally got to Logan Airport, Boston.Then took a taxi to Cambridge MA. My hotel, the DoubleTree Guest Suites, has nice rooms. Here's my living area ...
