LE DOMAINE ROYAL DE RANDAN
Randan est cité pour la première fois dans l’Histoire des Francs écrite par Grégoire de Tours qui relate l’existence d’un monastère, vers 570.
Une famille portant le nom de Randan apparaît en 1204. Dès lors, la seigneurie se transmet à diverses familles jusqu’au début du XIXème siècle.
En 1566, la terre de Randan est transmise à Fulvie de la Mirandole, veuve de Charles de La Rochefoucauld.
Un nouveau château est mis en chantier au cours du XVIe siècle, resté inachevé, il constituera la base de l’édifice actuel.
Puis, en 1661, il passe dans les mains de Marie-Catherine de La Rochefoucauld.
Il est vendu à Adélaïde d’Orléans, en 1821 et donc il lié désormais au destin de la famille d’Orléans.
