Here's my Bo, the little thug of my heart! I never intended to get a second dog, but he ended up at the shelter where I volunteer. Since I love working with shy and wary-of-strangers dogs, I gravitated to him immediately. Hot dogs and gentleness had him in my lap (and my heart!) within a couple minutes. I then fostered him, which was a complete failure. :)
He's been with me now for almost three years. He's got his own set of issues we're working through, and I love him madly, truly and deeply.
I was amused by this photo because it gives a hint of how the photo shoot went tonight. Savannah kept trying to get herself into the picture, and Bo kept trying to get away from the camera! I think the tongue is less a raspberry and more an anxious tongue flick, but I'm sure he'll come to be a camera hound as the weeks go by.
This is, without doubt, the finest dog I have ever met. Sadly this rather rushed shot doesn't do him justice.He's a lurcher, Borzoi cross Saluki, about 3/4 Saluki I'd guess. Stunning to look at, in beautiful condition and with a calm, gentle disposition. I met him and his family in Boscastle, Cornwall.
something spooked alice out in the woods today, so she went on high alert. she never does this, so i can only imagine that danger lurked somewhere near us... or actually, i think it was a bush full of little tiny birds flitting around. lol!! there was something about the noises they were making that scared her, i think because she couldn't really see the birds. for all she knew it was a large bush that was making scratching and shaking noises, and apparently that was very scary!
i have always wanted to get a picture of alice with her hackles up, because it makes her look so silly. in dog language, this is supposed to make her look bigger and more intimidating. i would agree with the bigger part. still not very intimidating though. :)

For my brothers birthday we took him dog sledging, where you are pulled along on huskies, they are beautiful animals!

An enjoyable day on the undergrad sea level field trip. Somehow I ended up with a dog at one point - this is proof it didn't eat me!
