Mexican security forces cruising around with heavily equipped and armed personnel is either scary or reassuring depending on your viewpoint.
In the back of the Dodge Ram are bench seats, but invariably they will be standing with weapons at the ready.
Many security forces have the lightbar on all the time regardless.
I have blurred out the faces of the personnel for their protection.
In addition to Wal-Mart parking lots, we also stayed overnight at some Flying J's. You can use the truckers showers for about $6.00 so you're nice and fresh for the day's drive. :)
