Since most of Nevada is public land, you can pull off and camp just about anywhere. We found this nice gravel "pull-off" on our last trip to Burning Man, and utilized it again on this trip.

FGR - "In the car"
Well, in this case it is a truck. A big damn truck. Having to drive clear across the state, I rented a pickup truck. My machismo was well rewarded. I had the biggest darn pickup truck on he road. I had to grab a handle to climb into it. I got respect at the rest stop. My volvo sedan never affords me such truck-guy-comradely. I drove my big black extended cab super-duty pickup truck for 2 days. I went off-road, on mining trials, jeep paths, mud holes, it was like a nice date.
I did return home to my volvo. It was fun to be a truck-guy for a bit...
