Marty McFly:
"Hey, Doc. You'd better back up, we don't have enough road to get up to 88."
Dr. Emmett Brown:
"Roads? Where we going we don't need roads."
Back To The Future
Marty: (Chicken): Wait a minute. Wait a minute Doc, uh, are you telling me you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?
Doc: (Mirinda): The way I see it, if you're going to build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?
Chicken and Mirinda might be working on Back to the Future part IV? ;P

"It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves." - Andre Gide
------
It's been a very busy and jam packed sort of day so I didn't have a lot of time for photos or Flickr.
It's to be expected this time of year I suppose.
But Nard and I got together and went for "Christmas" sushi, then exchanged gifts. He and Jo got me some delicious chocolates and a 1.8 ND filter for my primary lens! I'm so excited to hit the woods and try that out!
One of Nard's gifts was this little Doc Brown figurine, and of course being cramped for time, I borrowed the Doc for a minute to get a festive shot in!
Anyway, hope everyone has had a good day. If I don't get a chance to visit your stream or return a comment this evening, have no fear, tomorrow is a brand new day.

Macro Mondays: Planes, Trains and Automobiles
Back to the Future is my favorite triology and seems to fit in very well with this week's theme. The DeLorean took its place as one of the most memorable automobiles in film during part one, it took flight like a plane in part two, and used the assistance of a train in part 3.
Not had any time for building for ages, but off work for a couple of weeks and determined to build some new stuff.
First up, a teeny tiny DeLorean.

The DeLorean DMC-12 (commonly referred to simply as the DeLorean as it was the only model ever produced by the company) is a sports car manufactured by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market from 1981–83. The car features gull-wing doors and an innovative fiberglass chassis and underbody structure, along with a brushed stainless steel body. The car became widely known and iconic for its appearance and was modified as a time machine in the Back to the Future film trilogy. The first prototype appeared in October 1976, and production officially began in 1981 in Dunmurry, a suburb of south west Belfast, Northern Ireland (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21). During its production, several features of the car were changed, such as the hood style, wheels and interior. Approximately 9,000 DMC-12s were made before production halted in early 1983. The DMC-12 was the only model produced by the company, which would go into liquidation as the US car market went through its largest slump since the 1930s. In 2007, about 6,500 DeLorean Motor cars were believed still to exist. British entrepreneur Stephen Wynne, based in Texas, started a separate company in 1995 using the "DeLorean Motor Company" name and shortly thereafter acquired the trademark on the stylized "DMC" logo as well as the remaining parts inventory of the original DeLorean Motor Company. The company, at its suburban Humble, Texas location, completes newly assembled cars from new old stock (NOS) parts, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and reproduction parts on a "made to order" basis using existing vehicle identification number (VIN) plates. On January 27, 2016, the Humble, Texas location announced that production will resume and "new" DMC-12's will be rolling off the assembly line in early 2017. DMC announced that they would begin producing 300 DMC-12 models in late 2016. They are projected to cost just under $100,000.

Perhaps the last in my "Super Fly" Series, though I am sure it is not the last of my use of the Lego Fly Minifigure. Love this Guy.
Two or three years ago I built some Autobots based on 80s movie/TV vehicles. Since then I've revised my MOCs of those vehicles, so I recently went in and updated the Autobot models to match.

It’s a Back to the Future and Doctor Who crossover: Doc Brown meets the Doctor, a time traveling pair o’ docs.
You might think our heroes are meeting in Hill Valley, California, but they are actually standing in front of the Denton County Courthouse in my hometown of Denton, Texas.
Thanks to my friend Ed Steele for giving me the DeLorean in this photo.

One Christmas gift I got this year was the Kre-O Transformers "Class of '86" set, which came with some accessories that fit in better with another building block license. Even though the intended homage is obvious, the details (like the almanac's years) are frustratingly wrong. For the purposes of parody, I guess.
Although I do laugh at the idea of Megatron attacking the clock tower.

The weirdest thing... I had my preorder cancelled by Amazon since Universal retracted the release of the collector's edition blu-ray box (the one with the DeLorean replica included) and so there was no way to buy one... except that there was ONE box lying around at FNAC reduced price and all, begging me to buy it... I still don't know how or why or if McFly himself put it there but lo and behold the cancelled product was there! Admitted, I can understand why they cancelled the release, the replica really isn't all that nice...
Thanks for your comments and faves, critique welcome!
"You built a time machine DeLorean … out of Lego bricks?"
I am so pleased that Lego worked with Universal Studios to produce this toy. Back to the Future is my favorite movie of all time, and my daughter and I had a blast assembling this DeLorean time machine.
If I'm not mistaken, I have never posted a photo of my own Lego toys. It is appropriate that this one is my first.

"Where we're going, we don't need reindeer."
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...no matter which new year you end up in.
One of the first shots from my new camera, the Fujifilm XE4. So far I am enjoying it! This was shot with the vintage prime Minolta Rokkor 58mm f1.4. I utilized Fotodiox Pro adapter to Fuji X-mount. I’m quite happy with the results.
I would like a great dedicated macro lens for this camera though...

I settled on this crop option... Croption? New word to add to the dictionary perhaps? LOL.
Thx for all the suggestions. They helped!
I've been wanting to do this for such a long time now, Back to the future is one of my all time favourite films. I've always wanted a Delorean, this is the best I can do, I've always had a laugh thinking about it crashing in to a tree right after Doc says "Roads... Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads"
It was meant to be a star trail to show the amount of time it would have been stuck in the tree. Once I had set up the clouds had come over a bit so I just did a quick test to see how it looked. I'm quite happy with the overall results, give me a good chuckle.
Star trail version to come soon.
Enjoy!
