And not just in coloration - Sidney is a boy, Dixie is a girl; Sidney is laid back to the point of lazy, Dixie is keyed up to the point of spaz... They both want lots of food and attention, though, so I guess they're still both fairly dog dogs.
Toasted in the southern sun, this former flowering beauty has been reduced to a charcoaled crispiness. Even being spring0rated wasn't enough to put some spring back into it's step.
Meet Dixie, one of three of our most recent rescues. She is a very pretty paint type pony mare. She has good ground manners and so far is gentle and calm. She and her companions, Jethro the mule and Buttercup the miniature horse, appear to have been literally abandoned on a farm along with cats, chickens, and rabbits, all of which were seized, along with the horses, by Humane Society officials. Dixie has been adopted!!
Dixie Caverns is a cave near Roanoke, Virginia. This is the first cave I've been in that starts by climbing up into a mountain. It goes 6 stories up and at the lowest point is only about 6 feet under the normal ground level.
