The urban structure of Finale Ligure is divided into three main nuclei, until 1927 distinct municipalities: Finalmarina (or Finale Marina), the most recently urbanized area thanks to tourism, whose inhabitants are called "gnabbri" in Finalese dialect, Finalpia ( or Finale Pia), located on the coast that preserves the original structure of the city and Finalborgo (or Finale Borgo, the capital of the historic Marquisate of Finale surrounded by the ancient fifteenth-century walls and dominated by the castles Govone and San Giovanni).

The heights behind these areas make sure that the coastal resorts belonging to the Municipality of Finale Ligure have a microclimate characterized by mild winters, with average daily temperatures which, in the December-February quarter, are around + 9 / + 10 ° C.

Like the water of a mountain stream divided by boulders in the streambed, the afternoon sunlight in Miller Canyon is divided by a cluster of canyon live oaks before flowing downhill and pooling on the canyon trail.

Route whose itinerary runs around the Nordic ski slopes of Llanos del Hospital in the Benasque Valley. The route begins in the Pllan del Hospital, passing through beautiful places such as the Plan de Estan and the Plan de la Besurta to finally reach the spectacular Plan d'Aiguallut with magnificent views of the Aneto peak. It involves walking through a part of what is known as the Camino dels Aranesos, which originally linked the Hospital Plan with the Aran Valley.

The route is divided into three sections, a first very short and easy section to Plan de l'Estan, a second section that is also very simple to Besurta and a final section that is somewhat more demanding although accessible to any hiker accustomed to the mountains until the Forau d'Aiguallut.

Macro Monday - Divided. 13 Points, that is my number. How can I go wrong with this one? I pondered long on this theme and then it came to me.

Happy Macro Monday

A Medford to Eugene drag on the Siskiyou Line is arriving at Divide, Oregon on September 9, 1989. The train has reached the lop of the grade out of an area that drains to the Umpqua River. The rest of the trip to Eugene will be a gradual descent through the southern Willamette Valley.

The odd semaphore on the engineer's side of the train is mounted on a short mast, so it can be seen by trains on the other side of the overpass I was standing on.

Thanks for looking as always your comments etc are appreciated.

This week's assignment for Macro Mondays is Divided. At first I thought about a picture of a knife which is dividing f.i. a cucumber and then I came up with my apple divider. This is probably not the right word for this instrument so if you know the exact name, please let me know.

Thank you for all your views, faves and comments. This is well appreciated! HMM everyone!

A drive up the windy mountain roads west of Brisbane took us to Mount Glorious (619mtr) in the D'Aguilar Range, part of the Great divide. A stop to have our sandwiches before a hike through the rain forest. While it was a humid 34c when we left Brisbane, under the canopy of the forest in the mountains it was a comfortable 22c. Many birds, butterflies and spiders and a little Pademelon were spied along the way. We were even fed on by leeches.

It is certainly a good way to get away from it all and get back to nature. The giant trees were amazing. These are the roots of a giant Small leaved fig tree. (Ficus Obliqua). These trees can grow to over 60mtr tall (200ft). But they can also be grown as Bonzai.

For the Macro Monday theme "divided". I have always been fascinated how nature is doing this, a little seed, and then the cells divide into such complex entitys. In this case...a multipe divided one...

Finally Friday. It's been one of those weeks!

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback on the previous upload, it means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy the processing on this one. I wanted to go with kind of an old war type of look and this is sort of the mood and muted colors I think of when it comes to that. I know the cut off at the top is unfortunate, but overall I actually like this photo so it's an exception for me. ;)

Have a great day! :)

This week's assignment for Macro Mondays is "Divided". This strange looking insect was in my house. I caught it in a glass with an orange bottom.

This was the view at the top of our climb at the Continental Divide. Elevation of around 9500 feet. We had our packs on - which I propped up to rest the camera on timer. We were alone up there. I'm impressed with this crew that they made it. Sensational Saturday to you.

The water to the left has just produced 175 kW electrical energy, while that to the right just made noise.
