“We, all who live, have
A life that is lived
And another life that is thought,
And the only life we have
It's the one that is divided
In right or wrong.”
― Fernando Pessoa
Wile driving along the Eastern Parkway in Ottawa last week, I discovered This very narrow, golden strip of land with water on both sides creating some pretty amazing reflections as you can see.
In a very off the beaten track area in Hillock Wood, Buckinghamshire, I stumbled across the divide between the edge of a clump of conifers and the less regimental beech. The harsh morning light was playing through the trees and another of those just have to stop for a while to take it all in moments.
Dividing Line, day and night
Dividing Line, its black and white
Dividing Line, left and right
Dividing Line, wrong and right
Dividing Line, spirit and soul
Dividing Line, in your home
Dividing Line, beginning quote
Dividing Line, sheep and goat
Dividing Line, land and sea
Dividing Line, you and me
Enough is said, can't you see, a
Dividing line that needs to be.

Taken from the place we stayed at a few weeks back called Misty Cliff.
Misty Cliffs is a little village that lies on the mountain and on the beach, divided only by Main Road, between Kommetjie and Scarborough, roughly an hour from Cape Town.
It acquired its name for its, rather obviously, misty cliffs - it overlooks the wild and tempestuous sea, and is renowned not only for incredible days and beautiful beaches, but also for windy and wet days, depending on the season. It was something of a magical little hamlet that is also a conservation village bordering on a nature reserve, a wonderful place to find peace and quiet and a spectacular setting at the best of times.

Beautiful Early Marsh-orchid (Dachtylorhiza incarnata subsp. incarnata). The genus name Dachtylorhiza means finger-lobed tubers in Greek (‘dactylos’ – finger, ‘rhiza’ – root) with reference to its palmately divided (2-5 lobes) tubers; while ‘incarnata’ in Latin means ‘to make into flesh’. So, the two scientific names together could sound quite poetic: ‘The flesh raised from roots’. Taken at Clattinger Farm, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve, Wiltshire, England.
