He got up every day of his 84 years to the same things, the same valley and eventually the same wife and life. One morning the ole farmer rose like he always did but this time he noticed something was askew. It was a beautiful blue-sky morning however it was snowing. There was just a single cloud and yet snow flurries filled the valley. Then he noticed Molly his heifer in the bend of the road with her calf, Rosie. Molly was intent on making sure Rosie was content and it appeared that meant even if she was blocking traffic. The farmer strapped on his black slicker boots then buckled his frayed coveralls and then went and did what he always did. He dealt with the issues at hand as crazy as things were because that is what he has done his entire life. He just “Did.” And - he loved it. (No cows were put in harms way for the making of this photograph.)
What's not to love and adore about lacy pressed leaves from an autumn past, a bleach white sand dollar from a previous beach vacation, an antique bottle, and a collection of beautiful red-tail hawk feathers? These are a few of my favorite things.

The image for today was taken this late this afternoon between the Broadgate area and the Cathedral Quarter in Coventry City centre. The view is of the Grade I listed Holy Trinity Church. The original church was built about the beginning of the 12th century. It seems that the church was built as a side chapel for the much larger Benedictine Priory of St Mary (the First of Coventry's Three Cathedral's) which was located next door to Holy Trinity and founded by Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva. During the Mid 13th Century the church was nearly completely destroyed in a fire, the only part of the original church to survive was the North Porch (which still survives to this day). During the 15th Century the painting of the Last Judgement was created above the tower arch. This is now considered to be one of the most impressive Doom wall-painting now remaining in an English church. One of the many famous local people known to attend Holy Trinity church over the years was Mary Ann Evans, the 19th century novelist better known by her pen name of George Eliot.
The photo was taken using the app KitCam on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I Cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I then boosted the Contrast, Saturation, Ambiance, Shadows and Warmth. I also added a vignette and decreased the Highlights to help bring out some more detail in the sky. Next I used the app Stackables to apply the formula called Ancient Ruins. I then used the app DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Bliss texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Warm preset, the Drama FX and a Medium Dark Vignette. I then applied the Scratched texture and the Leather frame.

Backstory:
We went for a little drive in the country today. I've had my eye on this beautiful, abandoned farm for a few weeks. Today I captured her moment, her memory, her broken down beauty. The light through the now empty windows, the lean of her structure, the fading of her presence ... all will be missed.

The image for today was taken this afternoon. It is a view again of the Church of St Laurence in the Bell Green area of Coventry. The current Grade II* listed Church dates back to the 15th Century with the Tower been the oldest remaining part.
The photo was taken using the app Cortex Camera on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Lightroom Mobile to edit the image. I cropped and straightened the photo, then I applied the Dynamic colour filter. I also changed the white balance and boosted the saturation, contrast and warmth. Next I used the app Painteresque to apply a custom version of the Painteresque 2 preset. I then used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used the app AltPhoto to add the Expired (pink highlights) Toy Camera preset and frame.
