DistressedFX

Backstory:

I'm finding that, during morning moments, there is a comforting wrap of quietness that lingers to gently envelop the start of the day. Perhaps it could be leftover protection from the darkness of night? It seems, with the gradual lifting, the unveiling refreshes me. The sun is a welcomed sight and the ground, though still moist, feels nourished. In the midst of all of this, I want more morning moments. I hope you find yours. xo

Today's image was taken earlier this evening in the City Centre of Coventry. The view is of Fords Hospital. The Grade I Listed building was built at the beginning of the 16th century. It was used as an Almshouse for some of the poor Men and Women of Coventry. After it was enlarged and modernised in the early 19th Century it became an Almshouse for Women only. Even though it it was nearly destroyed in the blitz on Coventry during the Second World War it was carefully restored and is still in use to this day.

The photo was taken using the App ProCamera on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Camera+ to edit the image. I used the Clarity filter to boost the details of the picture, I also added a little saturation and extra brightness. Next I used DistressedFX to add the Cole overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used the app Alt Photo to add the Expired (Pink Highlights) Toy Camera filter to the image and the Grungy (white, tabbed) Boarder. I think this helps to give the image a vintage look.

Apps used: Superimpose, Decim8, Modern Grunge, DistressedFX.

...not to fall in love with this bridge. I crossed it with a few friends this weekend and it never gets old.

Crown Hill Cemetery is a favorite haunt of mine, so when I woke to snow I header over. I made this image with the native iPhone 6+ and the Olloclip 2x telephoto. It's processed with SnapSeed, Stackables, and Distressed FX.

Shot and processed on iPhone 5. Apps used: PhotoToaster, DistressedFx, ScratchCam, Blender.

An iPhone photograph, pulled through DistressedFX, Brushstroke, recombined in PhotoshopMix, taken into Photoshop proper on my MacBook Pro, filtered, Topazed and generally tampered with, until I was happy...

Today's image was taken in the City Centre of Coventry. It is a view of the Clock Tower to the side of the council house offices.

The photo was taken using the App Camera Awesome on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I also boosted the local contrast and sharpness of the building. Next I used the app AlienSky to add the light and halo to the street lamp using the Chroma Ring light effect. I also applied the Sepa filter to darken the sky in the image. After this I used DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Recover Highlights preset, the Drama FX, a Medium dark vignette. I then added the Scratched texture and the Leather frame.

I am trying to balance between computer edits and phone/Ipad editing. Oh and balance between getting out doors and living life and editing. That is the true challenge. This was done on my Ipad with the Distressed FX app and and app called "Pro Create."

As always, a photo each day for 365 days. All shot and edited using Apps on my iPhone 5.

The photo was taken using the App Cortex Camera for iPhone, before any editing. The file is saved as a 12mp Image (the default for Cortex Camera when using an iPhone 5). The original image can be found below.

First of all I used PhotoToaster to edit the image. The edits were made by sharpening the image. I then applied the Lomo filter with the Cross Cut effect. Next I used the App Scratchcam to add some scratches and texture. I then used an App called Distressed FX to add more texture to the picture using the Birds overlay and the Lade Texture. Last of all I passed the image through an App called Alt Photo using the Technicolor (Two-Strip) Vintage color filter.

The original photo was taken in Stivichall or Styvechale Croft, Coventry (Stivichall is the ancient parish name, Styvechale is the more modern spelling). The photo is of Smithy Cottage. The cottage is brick-built and probably of late-17th-century origin. It is a Grade II Listed cottage that was restored after it was damaged by bombing during the Second World War. We pass this cottage a few times each week on the way home from my daughters choir practice. It has been for sale for a while now and we joke that if we win the Lottery we would buy it. A Tree 2020: I recently found a replacement app for Quad Camera. This one is named SoSo Camera. It provides up to 8 rows of 8 frames for a maximum of 64 images. Each frame is about 400 pixels square. SoSo Camera also includes 12 filters and toy lens effect. I found this tree last week at Peppertree Park and made this 3x3 montage. To finish, I used DistressedFX fantone and tarnished filters. #sosocamera #distressedfxapp #alteredreality #ethereal_moods #editfromthesoul #everything_edited #artistry_flair #textured #masters_in_artistry #dailytextures.

Found these on our walk last Saturday. I tried to identify, but could not find a match!

Today's photo was taken this afternoon in the City Centre of Coventry. The view is looking across part of Lady Herbert's Garden towards Lady Herbert's Homes. The buildings were constructed in the mid 1930's as a pair of Almshouses. They are now privately run by a charitable trust, Separate from the public Gardens.

The photo was taken using the app Cortex Camera on my iPhone 6.

First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I cropped and straightened the image then added the Tonal Contrast filter. I also boosted the Vibrance, Saturation and Warmth, along with increasing the structure and sharpness. Next I used the app Painteresque to add the Painteresque 2 preset. I then used the app DistressedFX to add the Egret overlay and the Vanilla texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Recover Highlights preset, the Vibrant FX and a Medium dark Vignette. I then added the Canvas texture and the Antique frame.
