The image for today was taken in the middle of the City Centre of Coventry. It is a view of the historic Grade I listed Old Grammar School. The building was originally built partly as a Hospital and part chapel in the mid 12th Century. The main purpose of the Chapel was to provide care and relief to the poor people in the city. After the dissolution of the monasteries during the Reign of King Henry VIII the building was sold to John Hales with the idea that he founded a Free School in the name of the King. After years of standing empty, the building has now been restored and refurbished to be used by the Coventry Transport Museum as an extension to the main museum.
The photo was taken using the app ExposerGL on my iPhone 6.
First I used the app Snapseed to edit the photo. I Cropped the image and applied the Tonal Contrast filter. I then boosted the Contrast, Saturation, Ambiance, Shadows and Warmth. I then decreased the Highlights and added a little extra Structure to bring out some extra detail in the sky. Next I used the app Mextures to apply the formula called Windansea by Justin Halbert. After this I used the app DistressedFX to add the Stirred overlay and the Lade texture. Finally I used PhotoToaster to add the Tone preset, the Stark FX and a Large Dark Vignette. I then applied the Old Paoer texture and the Leather frame.
