I would be interested in the general view of the use of white poppies. My Grandfather and my Uncle, as Quakers, refused to fight in the wars, but both of them were out on the front lines with the Friends Ambulance Brigade, helping the wounded - without any means of defending themselves. My Uncle suffered severe kidney damage because he couldn't get treatment for an infection and refused to stop doing what he could to help, and his life was seriously curtailed. Both of them won the Croix de Guerre for their services and bravery. The white poppy, to me, is for people like them who lost their lives in wars everywhere.
