The last few days have been pretty awesome as far as shooting with the d810 goes. I have been learning a lot so far but have not had much time to get out and shoot with it this weekend. I was supposed to head to the Oregon Coast next week with the new Nikon but instead plans have changed and I will be heading to the Canadian Rockies for my second time. Its absolutely crazy the difference in quality detail and dynamic range this D810 has to offer compared to my older 6D. I look forward to learning more in the coming weeks so I can share some of my new work with everyone.
Anyways here is a more creative shot captured and created with my Canon 6D a few weeks ago, I guess I never got around to posting it.. so here it is. Multiple exposures shot at various time frames then hand blended with my own techniques. I did use a composite sky here to give an atmospheric feel to the scene.
I decided to sort through what I called me "memory binder" today. I have collected random pieces of paper and pamphlets that give me access to a memory from years past in school. I find this binder to be like a time machine - letting me travel back in time to re-experience moments in my life. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend creating your very own memory binder.
I took this through a foggy window one morning when it was so humid that I felt I was breathing water.

Standing alone at the waters edge only for another photographer to take more pictures of its strange but magnificent architecture. I love the distortion from the Canon 17-40mm lens, the way the tree starts to bend and the clouds pull out of frame. I didn't go for the long exposure on this shot I wanted the photo to give that cold feel, guess because that's just how it was. Thanks Chris.
Take a look over at the youtube Channel for how this photo was made.
Final pieces for 'Re-viewing Your Surroundings' brief expressing distortion by moving from the countryside to the city.
Our photo club had another photo challenge. This time the subject was "In Camera Distortion". I made this image in camera by taking a picture of my subject against a blown out white sky and then took another picture using a slow exposure and slightly moving the camera in a vertical motion to achieve an impressionist view of the trees, combining the original shot with the blurred forest. Love these challenges, as it opens up a whole new world of creativity!!

Multiple reflections between uneven air-water surface and water-glass surface causing a kind of coma and ghost.
Upper brighter area: Vehicles' lamps, traffic lights, and other illuminations.
Bottom darker area: All those reflected on the wet road surface.
