It's truly amazing thing how people seem to be distant to each other. These two friends (I suppose) were sitting like this for over 45 minutes at one of Madrid's coffee shops. Not a single word exchanged, not a word... It's terrifying. The illusion of being "connected" while the distance between people grows immeasurably. Madness.

I think that exactly this evenement will destroy the humanity... No atomic weapons, no diseases, no crime nor any other thing. Disability in relations with others will kill this planet. We're already turning into a society of unspoken idiots and sociopaths only knowing how to press "like" button under a selfie of a "friend" (should I rather say "connection") or a picture of someone's cat. That's how, in my humble opinion, the only one known to us intelligent form of being will perish.

Al jazeera... the island

Muralist Hildreth Meière was commissioned by Voorhees, Gmelin & Walker in 1930 to design a ceiling mural depicting the "Continents Linked by the Telephone and Wireless" as a reflection of the purpose of the building. Working in the Art Deco style, Meière re rendered allegorical personifications of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia connected by telephone and telegraph wires to each other and to the female messengers depicted in the center of the ceiling. The lobby was designated an interior landmark in 1991.

Despite the earlier fog, it turned out to be a really clear day along the Rhode Island shore. I could look across the sea and see things five miles away, including that lighthouse toward the left of this image. That is the Sakonnet Lighthouse, a 58-foot-tall light built in 1884 and sitting on Little Cormorant Island, just off the Rhode Island mainland 5.26 miles away. The body of land just to the right of this is probably West Island. When I geotag this, I'm going to geotag the location of the light instead of where I'm sitting. That way, you can compare the geotags for the surrounding pictures to see where I was in relation to that light.

We enjoyed our visit to Rhode Island, and maybe we'll go back someday and will get a closer view of this light. But there are better pictures of other Rhode Island lighthouses from this trip still to come.

The distance here was a bit too much for the poor old Bigma, so the sharpness here is lacking. But the colours were nice...

Continuous feature on camera captured this tender moment.
