Rosskar, Rosskarsee, Schafkarsee, Schiefersee and the Village of Gramais

Taken at the Southport Spit....trying out my new wide angle lens on a very cloudy moody Easter Sunday. If you look closely you will see the heads of some brave (silly?) souls in the water.

Distance doesn't separate people, silence does.

Texture thank you TCP.

The lowlands here are arid, except for areas such as this that receive the wildlife-enriching bounty of water scraped by the nearby mountains from the clouds of winter storms. These wetland areas near the Great Salt Lake are an important haven for avian residents, both year-round, and migratory in the otherwise vast dryness of the southwestern US and the Great Basin region.

Taken with Portra 400 film and processed from the digital file.

This is actually a test about how many people can see this post in their stream without my adding it to groups. It would be nice to let me know....(Flickr can be a pain ;-))

Taken at the wonderful Ojuela

I have shown this photo in a colour version before.

Today I show it again as a symbol of social distancing, which has become so normal for all of us in these days

Social distancing .....in the Red Beck Valley, Brighouse in West Yorkshire

from a distance

bette midler

From a distance the world looks blue and green

And the snow capped mountains white

From a distance the ocean meets the stream

And the eagle takes to flight

From a distance

There is harmony

And it echoes through the land

It's the voice of hope

It's the voice of peace

It's the voice of every man

From a distance

We all have enough

And no one is in need

And there are no guns, no bombs and no disease

No hungry mouths to feed

From a distance

We are instruments

Marching in a common band

Playing songs of hope

Playing songs of peace

They are the songs of every man

God is watching us

God is watching us

God is watching us

From a distance

From a distance

You look like my friend

Even though we are at war

From a distance

I just cannot comprehend

What all this fightings for

From a distance

There is harmony

And it echoes through the land

And it's the hope of hopes

It's the love of loves

It's the heart of every man

Iit's the hope of hopes

It's the love of loves

This is the song for every man

God is watching us

God is watching us

God is watching us

From a distance

Oh, God is watching us

God is watching

God is watching us

From a distance

With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️

a first for me: a puffin! and with a mouth full! I was on a boat in Kachemak Bay, near Gull Island, Alaska. This little guy has 5-6 small fishes in his beak! and dove for more!

(with the boat movement and distance, it is not that good of a shot but I was very happy to see puffins for the first time)

Panamint Valley

Mojave Desert near Death valley

Every day was a different sky. The temperature was cold and the air was filled with the smell of wet desert.

Bray Head, Co.Wicklow, 5.20am, on a June morning. The old disused tunnel can be seen as a blue dot on the left and the red railway signal light in the foreground.

Killiney Hd, Dalkey Island, Howth Peninsula and Lambay Island are in the distance and the Sealink Holyhead car ferry can be seen heading for Dunlaoire Port. It makes two journeys daily to Anglesea in North Wales.

Im a bit disappointed with this photo really even though its one of my best I think. I shouldnt have done the vignetting as I think it ruined it. Its a pity as the colours are natural. Ill have to try and retake it this year. Flickr is great as You always know how good a photo is by the reaction and thats what its all about. Never fave a photo that you dont think is good enough. Its totally disloyal to the photographer and they wont learn.

If I can find the original Ill do something with this. Delete it possibly!!!!! P@t.

Happy Travel Thursday, everyone!

Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife

The famous South Lawn underground car park at the University of Melbourne. This car park was used in the filming of Mad Max.

Built in 1971/72, this car park has aged as gracefully as myself. The design of the car park includes drainage from the ground above through the parabolic columns. Unique and controversial at the time.

I've visited here before but this time without my camera - had to use my phone, which forced me to think carefully about composition and lighting.

I've been away for some time and I'm sorry, life has been oh so busy.. Times are crazy with this virus and I hope you are all safe and practicing social distancing. I've missed you all so, thank you for the kind notes and mails.

Not too sure how long I'll be here but am trying to find time to love my camera again

Much Love

Our home seems to take on a little different charm “From A Distance” This was taken a from a vantage point that I don’t usually visit. As much as I enjoy the photo I look forward to seeing the area in the summer months.
