The distance.

While you were busy taking her for granted she drifted...
..a million miles away.
In the distance you can see several men fishing off a stone jetty just outside the Flaming Gorge Dam near the town of Dutch John, Utah. This photo was taken on a Sunday and many locals take frequent advantage of the fishing for Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon and other species here.

Having seen many excellent Barn Owl images being posted on Flickr I realised I hadn't seen or photographed a wild Barn Owl in over 3 years. So at the end of March I tried to put that right.
After the first brief Barn Owl visit an hour+ passed and then it showed up again, at distance, and spent more time quartering the fields on the hunt.
It was then that I realised that there were now two Barn Owls quartering the fields.
Barn Owls are birds of prey, hunting and catching small mammals, mostly Field Voles here in the UK.
A gritstone tor at the High Stones on Wilfrey Edge in the Upper Derwent Valley. In the middle distance can be seen part of Howden Reservoir.
Social distancing is a new action in our everyday life just now and is intended to stop or slow down the spread of a contagious disease. As each day goes by and we all adhere to the message, then we will reduce the probability of contact between persons carrying an infection, and others who are not infected, so as to minimize transmission. HFF! Walking westward along the pedestrian observation bridge, I can see my Condo tower in the distance and a large Canadian flag blowing in the winds.

I wanted to do the sketchcrawl in Montreal but it's just too cold here. So I sat in my car and painted this scene of John Abbott College (where I teach) in the distance. The wind was so cold across the cornfields that it blew right through my car.
