Taken this AM at Trader Joe's

I'm a bit late but It's been an Interesting week from car trouble to being a finalist in the Zebra awards and and being published in Dodho Magazine. check it out Dodho Magazine

P.S. I might drop another picture tomorrow

Good night and Good luck

SIne the I began photography I have liked the idea of a small camera with the quality of bigger cameras. I am not overly keen on the bulk and noise of SLR cameras yet do appreciate their versatility. I use mostly Olympus OM and a Pentax MX for SLR photograpy.

What I like best is a pocketable camera offering control and a good lens. In 1980 I heard of the Olympus XA cameras and was saving up for one then lost my after school job and had to wait some years before buying an XA.

The Minox EL has needed attention to give it a working shutter and reliable metering, when working well it's lens produces immages full of detail and feel.

Yoshihisa Maitani did not like the complexity and potential for unreliability pop out lenses give, both the XA and Pen D have fixed lenses and are spot on for reliability. Of the two I prefer the Pen D it is designed like the Rollei 35 to be operated first from the view of the top plate, the exposure and focus are set this way on both then its up to the eye and the phograph is made.

Heinz Waaske used innavative design with quality engineering for the Rollei 35. Like the Pen D the Rollei 35 feels good with a satisfying mechanical feel in use.

The aperture priority automatic cameras here offer convinience of setting exposure and in most circumstances are accurate. The XA's rangefinder patch is small and I use it as a distance estimation camera most of the time like the other three. Maitiani thoughtfully designed the distance scale window to be viewed from the top and it works well like this.

After departing Omaha, I skipped down to P Jct to try to beat the Charger test train to the Missouri River Bridge. A couple minutes after I pulled up, what looked to be the 410 Council Bluffs local rolled across on the River siding bridge (old single main bridge behind the new one) and came to a stop to let Amtrak 934 around. 934 appeared around the deep cut on the Nebraska side a few minutes later.

Vieves at the Salt Flat

This reminds me of one of the Star Wars films.

In other parts of the world this was also a blood moon, but there was no eclipse of the moon in the UK. However, it did appear during blue hour and this might explain the amazing red colour of the moon.

The unusually large moon is partly because this is a supermoon, but mainly because it was shot at 16km from the landmarks in the distance. Since haze increases with distance, this type of shot is best done in winter.

Interviews and novels.

About my book.

I published a book in old days.

At that time, I was uploading my interview on the net on the net.

That Japanese and English.

I will make it public for free.

Details were explained to the Amazon site.

How to write a novel.

How to take pictures.

Distance to the work.

They all have a common item.

I made a sentence about what I felt, and left it.

I hope that my text can be read by many people.

Thank you.

Mitsushiro.

U2 - No Line On The Horizon Live in Dublin

www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oKwnkYFsiE&feature=related

There are two reasons why a person faces the sea.

One, to enjoy a slice of shine in the sea like children bubbling over in the beach.

The other, to brush the dust of memory like an old man who misses old days, staring at the shine

quietly.

Those lead to only one meaning though they do not seem to overlap. It’s a rebirth.

I face myself to change tomorrow, a vague day into something certain.

That is the meaning of a rebirth.

I had a very sweet girlfriend when I was 18.

After she left, I knew the meaning of gentleness for the first time and also a true pain of loss. After

she left, how many times did I depend too much on her, doubt her, envy her and keep on telling lies

until I realized it is love?

I wonder whether a nobody like me could have given something to her who was struggling in the

daily life in those days. Giving something is arrogant conceit. It is nothing but self-satisfaction.

I had been thinking about such a thing.

However, I guess what she saw in me was because I had nothing. That‘s why she tried to see

something in me. Perhaps she found a slight possibility in me, a guy filled with ambiguous, unstable

tomorrow. But I wasted days depending too much on her gentleness.

Now I finally can convey how I felt in those days when we met.

I wanted to travel to Morocco by boat in order to experiment visually the continent change from Europa to Africa. Only on land travelling make the passenger really feel the distance and the cultural evolution all along the way. Since I had previously visited Sevilla, Malaga was for me an obvious starting point for a short Morocco trip. Then I would go to gibraltar, Tarifa and take the boat for Tangier, my first Morocco city. The trip lasted 3 weeks until I reach south of Atlas Mountain Range, just before the desert.

The conclusion of my travel is that I could not recognize any Moroccan people anymore since I could realize that from north to south, and depending of the mountain side landscape, geography and people are totally different.

I watched these white-tail deer for a while. I gathered that the small one is the offspring of the doe. He is a young buck (you can see the nubs where antlers will one day be) and I think he kept hoping to stay close to Mom who is pregnant and appears ready to give birth soon. She seems to be trying to send him off to fend for himself. Of course, I can understand how being pregnant in the Texas heat of July would make a lady very grumpy. Friends in distance I placed them in the center of my frame. How could I miss them with so many dynamic lines.

The lens was too old with no filters on the glass, it did not work fine against light. So I turn the pic into b&w.

I knew nothing about watches back in 2015 when I purchased this watch on Amazon. I liked the transparent area on this watch with it inexpensive quartz movement connected to the crown stem. I never wore it much but I did like the creative aspect of it. This watch is deep in the 5th drawer of my collection but I think it is still cool. So, I had some time this afternoon and I thought I would do some shots and see how it looked on camera...I did wipe it down but it looks pretty crusty at macro distance.

There was some distance between me and this beautiful creature, but even from a distance, it was obvious that he'd been beautifully groomed and prepared.

The horse knew it, and so did his Rider! I decided they'd earnt their moment of "Fame"...!

Thanks so much for visiting my Site Folks, and thanks especially for taking the time and trouble to leave a Comment; it's always nice to hear from you...!

Ashbourne railway station looking north-east.

This station opened in 1899 and was a joint station between the LNWR and the North Staffordshire Railway. An earlier NSR station opened in 1852, a short distance to the south-west, which was then closed and converted to a goods station.

Passenger services were withdrawn in 1954 although excursion traffic continued until 1963. The track was lifted in 1964 and the site was subsequently redeveloped.

Great week ahead everyone!

My thoughts are with all those affected by yesterday's horrific killings in Paris. A sad, sad day, indeed.

This is the fourth, and I think it will be the last, photo of one of two Common Loons seen at Emerald Lake, British Columbia, on 11 July 2015. Rather a distant shot, but I didn't dare crop it any closer than I did. That day, I had a wonderful day out with friend Sandy, driving westwards from Calgary and eventually reaching the next province, British Columbia (B.C.). Sandy had two destinations in mind - a stop at the Spiral Tunnels and then to explore the forest around Emerald Lake. I had only been to B.C. a handful of times in 37 years, so this was an absolute treat.

"The lake is enclosed by mountains of the President Range, as well as Mount Burgess and Wapta Mountain. This basin traps storms, causing frequent rain in summer and heavy snowfalls in winter. This influx of moisture works with the lake's low elevation to produce a unique selection of flora. Trees found here are more typical of B.C.'s wet interior forests, such as western red cedar, western yew, western hemlock and western white pine. The alluvial fan on the northeast shore produces wildflowers in abundance during late June and early July.

Due to its high altitude, the lake is frozen from November until June. The vivid turquoise color of the water, caused by powdered limestone, is most spectacular in July as the snow melts from the surrounding mountains.

The first European to set sight on Emerald Lake was guide Tom Wilson, who stumbled upon it by accident in 1882. A string of his horses had gotten away, and it was while tracking them that he first entered the valley. The lake had an impression on even the most seasoned of explorers: "For a few moments I sat [on] my horse and enjoyed the rare, peaceful beauty of the scene." It was Wilson who gave the lake its name because of its remarkable colour, caused by fine particles of glacial sediment, also referred to as rock flour, suspended in the water. However, this was not the first time Wilson had dubbed a lake 'Emerald'. Earlier that same year he had discovered another lake which he had given the same moniker, and the name even appeared briefly on the official map. This first lake however, was shortly renamed Lake Louise." From Wikipedia.

Our trip started just after 7:00 am, to get a good, early start, especially before the temperature soared. The drive from Calgary to Emerald Lake takes about 2 and a half hours and is a 218.5 km drive via Trans-Canada Hwy/AB-1 W. We took a quieter route home at the end of the day. Rain arrived just in time for this drive home and, by the time I got back to my car in Calgary, the rain was really heavy and a few of the roads were beginning to flood very quickly. It was raining again this morning. I was kind of hoping for a few rainy days, as I suddenly have a build-up of quite a few very major, very urgent things to deal with and I didn't want to be tempted to go out with my camera.

Shortly after we began our walk though the forest along the right hand side of the lake, we heard a commotion coming from the water. When we found a place to see through the trees, we could see two beautiful Common Loons and a female duck with several babies, possibly Common Mergansers. My guess would be that the Merganser mother kept chasing away the Loons, creating a lot of splashing. This distant photo of one of the Loons was taken at the end of our walk. It was in the smaller section of the lake at Emerald Lake and we noticed it when we were walking along the boardwalk/bridge. It was swimming towards us and I managed to get one quick shot. Then it swam under the boardwalk and was disappearing into the distance by the time I took this shot. This photo also shows why this lake is named Emerald Lake : )

Also, at the beginning and the end of our "hike", we watched a family of Violet-green Swallows that were nesting. Not sure how many young ones there were, but I saw three. Though we do get these birds in Calgary, I've never seen one properly - just when a mass of Swallows swarms over the Bow River and someone calls out "Violet-green!" The adults flew to feed their babies at top speed and barely stayed a second at the nest hole. I was just thrilled to see one of these birds - thanks, Sandy, for your patience, allowing me to try and get a few photos! Thanks, too, for such a great day, as usual!
