A rain drop has landed on the middle "puddle" disrupting the pattern of the reflection. Photo taken looking straight up from under a glass eave/overhang on a rainy afternoon in Vancouver. There is a neon sign above the glass overhang.

The two weapons shoot intense, tightly focused soundwaves. (There's probably a technical term for such a sound laser, if anyone wants to chime in with it, go ahead.)

The River Chew in flood at Albert Mill, Keynsham, Somerset, 27 December 2020. In 1968 extremely heavy rain in the Mendip Hills caused a flash flood which resulted in large parts of Keynsham being inundated and much damage. The County Bridge on the River Avon just after the confluence with the Chew was washed away and communication between this part of North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire was disrupted for many months. As a result Keynsham railway station, which was due to close, was kept open. It is still open today and is well patronised.

Disruption for Arriva Trains Wales services at Crewe after a bridge strike in the Sandbach area closed the Crewe to Cheadle Hulme line on Friday 17th October 2014. On the left of picture is Class 175 No. 175113 which had formed the 11:03 Carmarthen – Manchester Piccadilly, forced to terminate at Crewe while on the right is Class 175 No. 175110 arriving with the 15:30 Manchester Piccadilly – Carmarthen service, diverted via Macclesfield and Kidsgrove where it reversed to take the line via Alsager to Crewe. Hence the arrival into the south facing bay platforms and considering the diversion and reversals involved departed Crewe a mere 40 minutes late.

The B-17 played a critical role as part of the Eighth Air Force, often enduring heavy losses while operating deep into enemy territory without escort early in the war. Its ability to sustain significant damage and return to base made it a symbol of Allied resilience. The aircraft also served in other theaters, including the Pacific, conducting reconnaissance, anti-shipping missions, and supplying resistance forces. The B-17’s contributions to disrupting Germany's production and logistics were instrumental in achieving Allied victory.

And the golden tower buildeth they didst, and fucketh with the weather it wouldst.

Ock's costume was terrific from every angle and always drew a crowd.

This is why when I spotted him walking towards my "photo studio" I turned away and didn't stop him for another photo...

...

Damn, but somebody else did. And within thirty seconds, "my" studio was packed with people. Oh, well...I had been thinking about taking a break anyway.

I've decided to start following Zach Arias' DEDPXL assignments. The first one is lines.

Not unlike my dishtowel shot 2 shots down in my photo stream, I like the way the lines in the comforter undulate and are disrupted and warped by the state of the fabric. Yet somehow the horizontal motion suggested by the lines remains. I also like the lines present in the weave of the fabric itself which add extra textural detail and interest, sometimes reinforcing the horizontal motion and sometimes suggesting a vertical element as well.

Fortune Brainstorm E 2015

SEPTEMBER 28–29, 2015: AUSTIN, TX, USA

Companies worldwide are navigating an epic business revolution driven by new sources of energy, disruptive technologies, and environmental pressures in a world slated to grow to 9 billion people, from 7 billion, by mid-century. The stakes are high, the risks are palpable, and the opportunities massive. In the race to create a more sustainable world, companies are exploring new technologies and inventing new business models. How will these new disruptive technologies—whether they are in solar, fracking, smart grids, self-driving cars, zero-emission buildings or safe chemicals—impact your business?

Fortune Brainstorm E: Where Energy, Technology, and Sustainability Meet will bring together the smartest people we know who are operating at the forefront of this revolution, including CEOs and senior executives, investors, policy makers, environmentalists, and thought leaders. We’ll challenge one another to explore the disruptive technologies and the new business models that will be needed to thrive in this age of rapid change. In two action-packed days, we’ll showcase the people, companies, ideas, and strategies that will bring about the transformational change the business world needs. We’ll gather September 28–29, 2015, in Austin, Texas.

The program will tackle tough questions: How is the energy revolution impacting the American economy and the way American corporations operate? Silicon Valley increasingly is applying new info-tech to our energy, transportation, water, and food systems. How can companies grow revenues and profits while reducing their environmental impact? Can wasteful consumerism be tamed? Will business lead a movement in Washington to fix today’s energy and environmental policies—which manage to be both ineffective and inefficient? If business is to help solve the world’s biggest environmental problems, and do so profitably, corporate executives, environmentalists, and politicians will need to innovate and collaborate, think big and act boldly.

Brainstorm E builds upon the distinguished legacy of Brainstorm GREEN, long the premier conference on business, sustainability, and green investing. It’s the optimal place to deliver fresh thinking, actionable solutions, and unparalleled opportunities to build top-level relationships.

This is the race modified Disruptor. Obviously there's a big wing at the back, but the front end is also more open to allow for improved airflow.

Bit of a belly crawl to get this shot of a Grayling on the path at Acres Down. Otherwise they'd fly up on approach. You can see how impressive its camouflage is, and also how intricate and rather pretty. Their camouflage is so good that they were very hard to spot until they flew up from the path on being disturbed.

Before this year I'd not seen a Grayling in the UK.

Normally my two blogs don't overlap. A Raven Image - the passions of my heart (photography & beauty) and Tom's Mog - the passions of my mind (geopolitics & conspiracy) usually inhabit separate realities, but today they cross-over...

...creating some general quantum interference or Disruptive Patterns

hopefully thought provoking ones of beauty :-)

Check out my latest posts on Tom's Mog - Nanotech is Now! - Hidden Technologies and Imagine! - A World of Drone Wars, Weather Weapons and Nano-Tech Spies

Update: Well must have touched a nerve with that post... lost my job today out-of-the-blue. so will be heading off the grid for a while just in case those disruptive patterns I kicked off plan on getting any worse... stay tuned for follow up posts on my blog :-(
