Who is Jason Rivera ?
NYPD emergency call center records show how a seemingly routine domestic call Friday night in Manhattan quickly turned deadly.
Before Officer Jason Rivera was killed and Officer Wilbert Mora was critically wounded by Lashawn McNeil's Glock .45, police had little indication they were headed for an ambush.
The NYPD received a 911 call from Shirley Sourzes, a woman who was having a dispute with her son in a Harlem apartment at 5:09 p.m. m., according to call logs obtained by the Post.
“HE IS THREATENING TO DO THINGS TO HER,” the record read. "HE IS IN THE HOUSE NOW."
But the record indicated that the unidentified woman told the dispatcher that no one in the Harlem apartment had a weapon or was injured. McNeil, in fact, was brandishing a gun with an illegal high-capacity magazine.
Over the next few minutes, dispatchers wrote that her caller said her son was at her house and was "threatening to do thing to her."
For over an hour, there were no further log entries, until a 6:21 log of "SHOTS" was entered.
Rivera, Mora and a third cop had arrived at 119 West 135th Street’s apartment 1D and spoke to the woman and another one of her sons in the living room before walking down a long narrow hallway to check on McNeil. The alleged killer then swung the door open and opened fire on the officers, according to previous descriptions.

Shortly after 1 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to a vegetation fire in Vandenberg Village just outside of Lompoc. Winds gusting upwards of 20 MPH propelled the fire through thick vegetation making it difficult to contain the fire. Ultimately progress was stopped after the fire had burned between 3 and 5 acres.

Does any one know what country this is from? The wings and wheel are opposite of the British patches. It should be US or Canadian but I have not seen any of their patches. Please update if you know about this.

At the General Session CPRA luncheon on April 12th, 2007, I was pleased to honor CPRA 2006 RF Engineer and Technician of the Year winners, Don Miller and Victor Murray respectively. Each pleased winner was honored with an elegant CPRA plague and a Senate Certification from California Senator Alex Padilla (District 20). This year was the first year we commenced a new category, the RF Engineer of the Year, and gave the honor to our winner, Don Miller. Don is the Special Project Supervisor for the City of Long Beach Emergency Communications & Operations Center, Wireless Communication Division. Honor was also given to Victor Murray who received the CPRA Technician of the Year award. Victor works as Communications Technician III for the County of San Bernardino, ISD Network Services. Both Don and Victor represent excellence in support and service as leaders who actively contribute to the public-safety community.

North of the river the 1960 show is going on but down the other side of the Thames, the Thames PSV has a show of its own, courtesy the Ford main dealer. The illustrated Duple Yeoman is last season’s style, and the Plaxton Consort IV is about to be replaced, but the Harrington Crusader is pictured at an angle that almost makes it look good. Note the lack of extras on the Duple save the cove windows, and the lack of all but standard roof glazing on the Plaxton.

Many of the ships in St. John's harbour are tug/supply vessels, like the Dispatch. They mainly serviced the offshore oil rigs. She is one of several "D" Class ships owned by Maersk.

Shortly before 4 pm emergency services were dispatched to reports of a high-velocity collision at the intersection of Jordan Road and the South Service Road in the town of Lincoln. Upon arrival crews encountered a two vehicle MVC with one vehicle on its side in a ditch; the elderly driver trapped inside. The vehicle had also struck a hydro pole, sheering it completely. LFR Rescue 637 was also requested to the scene to assist with extricating the patient from the vehicle. Firefighters used the jaws of life to remove the vehicle’s doors and roof and successfully removed the patient. They were transported by Niagara paramedics to and out-of-town trauma centre with presumably serious injuries. All crews worked efficiently and quickly to remove the patient from the vehicle. The intersection was closed while Niagara Regional Police investigated. One other person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
