On Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021 at approximately 3 pm, emergency services in the Town of Lincoln were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle collision with multiple patients trapped on the QEW Buffalo-bound/EB between Victoria Avenue in Vineland and Jordan Road (Jordan). First arriving units encountered a two vehicle collision between a car and a minivan with several patients trapped in the van; with one patient that suffered critical injuries. It took nearly an hour to fully extricate the trapped patients, with multiple firefighters and paramedics working to access the injured. An air ambulance from Ornge attended the scene and transported the most critical patient to an out of town trauma centre; while three other patients were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Lincoln Fire Rescue, Niagara EMS, OPP, and Ornge all attended this call. The collision resulted in a full highway closure for several hours while crews worked the scene.

Another amusing trolley advertisement reproduction carried aboard a Pennsylvania Trolley Museum car, June 6, 2012. This card promotes newspaper coverage of the hometown Pirates in the Pittsburg Dispatch. Note the H-less spelling, which stirred great controversy between 1891 and 1911, as described at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Etymology_of_Pittsburgh

More amusing still is the final jab at the competition: The Dispatch, apparently unlike other local papers, "has no axes to grind." Good to see some things never change.

These are hotbox detector printers stacked in the dispatchers office when Conrail still had dispatching desks in the depot. The photo was taken in September, 1981.

You know, it doesn't work to well while standing.

Here is Cumberland County NJ our 9-1-1 staff enjoyed a week of events.

We held a week long costume contest with the themes being

Sunday was reverse gender day

Monday was hawaiian day

Tuesday was red day

Wednesday was cowboy day

Thursday was black day

Friday was red neck day

On Saturday we had a picnic and hung up pic's of everyone dressed up.

Everyone that attended vote on the costumes and the winner received a gift certificate.

A couple other events we had were-

Tuesday night we did a movie night where everyone brought their families to work and we watched Flicka

Thursday night we had an ice cream party, again everyone brought their families to work and the Chief of our center served everyone ice cream. Which really turned into a whipped cream fight!!

But good news always comes from bad situations when club members are dedicated. We don't have any real recent photos as of this post, but here is a view of the new dispatcher tower for the HO layout. It is currently complete and operational. It includes carpet, a computer, two monitors, and a radio scanner. Most funds for this project was provided by the members.
