Designer Belle and Gaston have been deboxed. They are standing next to each other. Belle is supported by a Kaiser stand. Gaston is freestanding, and is holding Belle's book in his hand (upside down).
Detailed photos of the Belle and Gaston Doll Set, the second release of this year's Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I got them from the store raffle on the release day of Tuesday September 20, 2016. They are #853 of 6000. As of Friday September 23, they are still available online, and in many stores.

We apologize for the misuse of this character name.
This release was also announced today by the Disney Store Facebook page, with a different set of images of at the dolls (smaller scale and with different backgrounds).
I was posing Belle earlier with some props but forgot to take pictures.
I also found that the Beast's stand could turn, don't know if I did something to cause it to move or if it was already like that. Thought it would be a good opportunity to take some photos as I put them back on the stands for now until I can set some time to paint Beast's eyes.
I think making the blue more prominent could make a difference although his fur is a much deeper colour - could have been a design choice - but his eyes are such an important feature, especially to Belle!
I'll go back and recreate Belle and her props once he's sorted :)
Inside the Disney Store. Rapunzel and Mother Gothel in a diorama of the Tower. This and the other dioramas were auctioned off the Sorcerer ticket holders.
Day 1 of the D23 Expo, Friday August 14, 2015.
Goals: Disney Store LE Coronation Elsa and Hans Doll Set, pre-order DFDC doll collection.
I got to the Anaheim Convention Center parking lot at about 4:50 am. I got to the lineup for the D23 Expo in Hall E, which is below ground, at about 5:15 am. There was already thousands of people in front of me, just in the D23 Silver/Gold Member line for D23 shopping. My line started moving at around 7:30 am, and we got into the main Exhibit Halls at about 9 am. I then waited in the very long line for the Disney Store. I finally got in the Disney Store at about 2 pm. As I waited in line, the CM with a microphone kept on updating us on the availability of LE items in the store. As I approach the head of the line, the D23 exclusive Elsa and Hans set was still available. But they said that there were no more pre-orders for the DFDC doll set, so I was really disappointed. I was happy to learn when I got into the store that in fact they did have fifty of the DFDC doll set available for pre-order. So that I didn't miss out on the pre-order, I rushed my shopping and taking of photos of the displays. I got the Elsa and Hans set, the DFDC and Story Films lithographs, and most of the DFDC mugs and journals. I lugged the items to checkout, and pre-ordered the DFDC doll set. My gold D23 card enabled me to get a 10% discount on the non-LE items. I didn't buy her, but I verified that the Princess Leia doll was 12'' and LE 450. I was happy with what I got, even though I missed out on a lot of the more limited LE items. There are still chances on Saturday and Sunday to possibly get them. Art of Jasmine is tomorrow, and they said all of those items will only be sold on Saturday.
The complete set of all dolls in the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, Heroes and Villains series. They placed side by side in their display cases, with the slipcovers off. They are in the order in which they were placed in the shipping carton. They are in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion, with the Disney Parks Snow Queen Elsa small figurine doing her presentation gesture at the top of the staircase.
My pre-ordered full set of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Heroes and Villains dolls arrived after a delay on November 6, 2015. I had ordered them at the D23 Expo on August 14, 2015. They are all edition number of 65 of 6000. They came in perfect condition, and I think most if not all the dolls are better than the ones I bought separately (which I have deboxed or will debox). By the way, I got 5 gift bags in this shipment, and got another 5 in a separate shipment. So like most people who pre-ordered the full collection, I am getting twice as many bags as I should have.
Here are my first photos of the set, taken with flash. They were taken in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion. I will later take photos of my deboxed Designer dolls next to these dolls, which I will leave boxed. But before I do that I will have to debox the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel set and the Snow Queen Elsa and Hans set.
Fairytale Designer Ariel Doll in Royal Ball Cinderella's gown and shoes. She is standing, supported by a Kaiser doll stand. The blue ribbon in her hair is from her original outfit, which I decided to leave alone, as it looks good with Cinderella's blue gown. Here she has her arms outstretched to her sides, as she about to twirl around in the dress.
I am putting Mattel's Royal Ball Cinderella doll's outfit on Disney Store's Fairytale Designer Ariel doll. First I post a detailed set of photos of Ariel before and after the swap. The dress fits beautifully on Ariel, but the shoes were a very tight fit. I guess Cinderella really does have tiny feet! Finally I post a group photo mimicking Amy Mebberson's Pocket Princess cartoon, which was the inspiration for this clothing swap. It was fun to do, and I think turned out great!

D23 Pre-Order Announcement 2015-08-12
D23 Designer Coronation Elsa, fully deboxed. She is posed standing, supported by a Kaiser doll stand, rather than on her Designer doll stand.
The cape is magenta with a black embroidery and magenta jewels, and is fully lined with magenta satin. Her skirt is teal with multicolored embroidery and jewels, and is also fully lined. Her separate bodice matches the skirt in color and decorations, and has the black blouse sewn to it. She is wearing blue green stretch gloves, so she is fully covered up. She is holding the royal golden orb and scepter, attached by rubber bands to her hands. Finally she has a golden crown with a blue gem in the center.
Photos of the D23 Exclusive Designer Elsa and Hans doll set. I purchased it on its release day, Friday August 14, 2015. It is Limited Edition and cost $129.95. My set is #758 of 1023. It is part of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, but is a variant of the LE 6000 version. This D23 version has Elsa and Hans in their coronation outfits. The regular version has Elsa in her Snow Queen outfit, and Hans in his normal gray outfit, and will be released in stores and online on October 27-28, 2015.
Hans is in white, and Elsa is in teal and purple. Elsa is also holding her golden coronation orb and scepter. They are posable 12'' dolls. They are supported by built in doll stands, and inside of a display case with a golden nameplate and protected by a clear acrylic cover, with a fully illustrated slipcover over that.
Elsa is very similar to the Limited Edition Coronation Elsa 17'' Doll that was released in March 2014. One big difference is that Designer Elsa has her royal orb and scepter, and a blue jewel in her crown, that are missing from the 17'' doll.
People will know how much I love the Rapunzel DS sculpt it bordered on an obsession 2011-2012. This has to be the last one for my collection
I've removed the slip from the case and placed on the other side.
Flynn looks creepy but to me he's a dressed accessory, lol.
I can't believe how great she looks!!!! I love her! She has golden green eyes too!
A romantic at heart, Rapunzel is artistic, creative and full of curiosity. Spending her days painting and singing, her energy is as limitless as her hair is long. However, when the handsome thief Flynn Rider picks hers mysterious and secluded tower as his hideout, the two begin a journey together that will untangled many secrets along the way.
Signature long hair romantically styled with braiding and flowers. Printed satin corset bodice with puffed velvet sleeves. Warm illuminating lantern. (does it glow in the dark?!)
Layered gown with ornate golden detailing. Rich velvet overlay with gemstones and gold printed inset.
Suede-like vest that's belted with a satchel to hold the Princess' crown. Boots to finish his rugged look.

This has to be the last one for my collection - I wonder how she looks?
Three of the Limited Edition dolls on my desktop display have swapped clothing with another LE doll. LE Snow White and Wedding Rapunzel have swapped outfits. Designer Pirate Fairy Zarina is wearing the Kingdom Tour dress of Fairytale Designer Ariel. Ariel is now a Pirate Fairy, and is in her Designer display case with Prince Eric (not shown here).
All dolls are deboxed, and are all by the Disney Store. The following lists all the dolls in this photo, their heights, and the year of the doll's release.

Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Cinderella & Prince Charming
I thought their first meeting was a cute little connection to these lyrics in the song "Belle" from Beauty and the Beast.
Note: Just cause I connect their meeting to these lyrics to the song, that does not mean I believe that the book Belle was reading was "Cinderella". Someone just had to challenge me on this connection on a LE Disney Doll fan page on Facebook, and I just want it to be clear. . .this picture focuses on the above lyrics ALONE. Not the rest of the song.
Disney Princess Designer Collection Dolls (2011) on bottom row and Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Dolls (2013-2014) on the top row. They have been completely deboxed, and placed back on their original display stands. The covers and cardboard backing have been removed, so we get a clear view of the doll from all sides, and their outfits can be expanded. I have the D23 Snow White and the Prince set (on the upper right), but not the D23 Cinderella.
Rey has been added to my desktop Disney doll display. She is from the Hot Toys Rey and BB-8 The Force Awakens Sixth Scale Figure Set. She is free standing, and is in her basic outfit, straight out of the box.
Here are the items shown in this photo. All by the Disney Store, unless otherwise noted.
Front row
- Swarovski Elsa Limited Edition Figurine (2016)
- Rey Sixth Scale Figure (Hot Toys, 2016)
- Arribas Cinderella Faceted Slipper (2016)
- Once Upon a Time Evil Queen Limited Edition Doll (2015)
- Singing Snow White Doll (2011) in Tonner Wishing Dress (2009)
Middle row

- DFDC Cinderella and Lady Tremaine Doll Set (2016)

- DFDC Snow Queen Elsa and Prince Hans Doll Set (2015)
I've added the deboxed Teal Jasmine to my desk at home. I rearranged the 17'' Snow White dolls and removed the 12'' Classic Snow White and DL60 12'' Doll. DFDC Ariel in Cinderella's dress was just passing through. So now all the dolls are limited edition or are wearing outfits from LE dolls.
Front row
- Evil Queen and Snow White, from D23 Expo LE 300 Once Upon a Time Doll Set (2015)
- DFDC LE 6000 Snow White and the Hag 12'' and 10'' dolls (2015)
Back row
- D23 Expo LE 500 Red Jasmine 17'' Doll (2015)
- LE 5000 Teal Jasmine 17'' Doll (2015)
- LE 5000 Snow White 17'' Doll (2009)
- Singing Snow White 17'' Doll (2012) wearing Princess Snow White Dress (Tonner, 2009)
- Singing Snow White 17'' Doll (2011) wearing Wishing Snow White Dress (Tonner, 2009)
My two absolute favorite princesses and princes. Disney Store clearly intended them to compliment each other which I really appreciate. Briar Rose's dress is almost identical to Ariel's in structure. I'm so happy and grateful to have them.
I am really loving these two together. It's quite late in the evening here so they have a bright artificial light on them.
Also I was trying to work out why I was so thrown off by Beast - where are his blue eyes?!
I'll repaint them soon and see if it helps!
Comparing the Limited Edition Ariel 17'' Doll with the Designer Fairytale Ariel 11.5'' Doll, both in photos from the waist up, from about the same angle and pose. The photo on the left of LE Ariel was taken by me of the display doll in a local Disney Store. The photo on the right of Designer Fairytale Ariel was taken from the Disney Blog article of Aug 1, 2013. LE Ariel will be released on Oct 1, 2013. Designer Fairytale Ariel and Eric will be released on Oct 15-16, 2013.
D23 Designer Coronation Elsa and Hans, fully deboxed. They are posed standing side by side. She is supported by a Kaiser doll stand, and he is free standing. They are eyeing each other warily.
The cape is magenta with a black embroidery and magenta jewels, and is fully lined with magenta satin. Her skirt is teal with multicolored embroidery and jewels, and is also fully lined. The first two releases in the 2014 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection are placed next to each other. They have been completely deboxed, and placed back in their original display stands. The covers have been removed, and the backing has been cut off the bases of the display stands.
Photos of my Limited Edition Pocahontas and John Smith 12'' Designer Doll Set. Second of five releases in the 2014 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I purchased them in store on the release day, Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014. They are #1352 of 6000, and cost $129.95. I think these dolls follow the artwork very well, and look very good together. I like the colors and textures of Pocahontas' outfit and accessories much better than the original Designer Pocahontas doll (released in October 2011). I also think her face is prettier and her expression gentler and more natural. John Smith also has a good expression, and doesn't look as bland as most of the other Designer Princes. The couple are presented side by side in the box, so are both very well shown. All of the photos of the dolls with the plastic cover removed are done with flash, as the daylight was very dim at that point.

Detailed photos of the Cinderella and Lady Tremaine DFDC limited edition doll set that I bought on the release day (September 6, 2016) from my local Disney Store. There were only about 10 people who entered the raffle for the 18 doll sets available. My set is numbered #2287 of 6000. I didn't see any significant flaws when I inspected the set at the register. I didn't get a gift bag when I bought the set, but returned the next day and they gave me one. The set is still available online, and in some stores as of Friday September 9.
Cinderella does have teeth in her face mold. They are painted over to give the illusion of a closed mouth. But at the angle that her head is positioned, it is hard to see the painted over teeth, and the illusion is very convincing.
Cinderella is wearing dark pink high heels with articulated ankles. She has blemish on her cheek that looks like hair product that spilled onto her face. So I was able to wash it off when I took the cover off the display case. Her hair is stiff with hair product, so I decided to leave her hair alone after deboxing, even though it looks a bit messy, and some of her hair curls around her neck.
When I deboxed Lady Tremaine, I unpinned her skirt so it's much fuller. I also unpinned her scarf so it falls freely from her head. It is sewn to her hair. I left Cindy's skirt pinned together in the front (so it looks pleated), but I may free it later.
This is my favorite set in this year's Designer Collection, and has been since I first saw images of it. Cinderella looks even more beautiful in person than in photos. I love her hair color and her face. Lady Tremaine's outfit is outstanding, and is much better than the one on the 17 inch Limited Edition Lady Tremaine from 2012.
My Snow White and the Hag Doll Set is fully deboxed. They are both standing, side by side.
Detailed photos of my Snow White and the Hag Doll Set, the first in store release of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I got it today in my local Disney Store raffle. The set is #2595 of 6000.
Snow White's in box pose is stiff, with her face pointing up too much, and her curly hair messy, especially on the right. She has the 2012 Classic Princess style body, with hard plastic legs, external hinge knee joints, and ball jointed ankles. She has golden yellow flats, matching the color of her skirt. She has a full length velvet cape with satin lining.
The Hag (or Witch) has a unique body and limbs. Similar to the DFDC Beast doll, she has an awkward stance if free standing. In fact, my doll's right leg cannot be straightened completely and her fixed ankles are bent, so her natural standing pose is stooped, making her stand about 10 inches tall. In the box pose, her feet is raised by plastic forms, so if they are removed for deboxing, her feet dangle in the air if she is reboxed. She doesn't have ankle joints, so she cannot point her toes to reach the floor of the display stand.
They did a fabulous job making the Hag an accurate representation of the animated movie character. I also like Snow White's anxious expression, which is appropriate for being next to the evil Hag. I did the best I could to make Snow's hair neater, but it is still messier than I would like. Her curly hair is heavily stiffened with hair product, so it was not easy for me to rearrange her hair using my fingers.

I got this Disney Fairytale Designer Collection tri-fold flyer on Day 2 of the D23 Expo, Saturday August 15, 2015. It was while I was waiting in line just outside the popup Disney Store. It has the same design as the previous Designer Collection promo flyers given out by the Disney Store. Concept artwork of Hans and Elsa are on the cover. The inside pages contain photos of the actual dolls, and the release dates. Other pages contain information about the other Designer merchandise, and details about the release process. Once again, there will be a raffles in stores between 12 and 1 pm, followed by an online release at midnight (Pacific time).
The complete doll collection was able to be pre-ordered at the D23 Expo. It can also be pre-ordered online on Monday September 14, 2015, at 12:01 PST. Presumably the non-doll merchandise will be released online and in stores on the same date, if the Disney Store follows the same pattern as in previous years. But this year it happens a month after the Expo, as opposed to the day after the Expo ends.
Most of this information was released by the Disney Store Blog article Disney's Designer Fairytale Collection posted on August 13, 2015.
Also see the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection page on the US Disney Store website.
Two versions of the Snow White and the Prince Doll Set, from the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, are compared.
Joining them on the left is the 2011 Limited Edition Designer Snow White Doll from the Disney Princess Designer Collection. She was released online and in stores on September 19, 2011 and purchased online the same day. She is number 3997 of 6000. Behind her is the 2011 Classic Prince doll (as there were no limited edition dolls of the Prince from that year).
In the center is the regular edition Snow White and the Prince dolls, that have outfits closer to being movie accurate, and are a limited edition of 6000 sets. They were released in stores on August 20, 2013, and online the next day. My doll set was purchased in store on release day, and is number 558 of 6000.
On the right is the D23 Expo exclusive Gold Snow White and the Prince dolls, that have special outfits of the same pattern as the regular versions of the dolls, but made of different materials and colors. It was a limited edition of 600 sets. They were released exclusively at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California on August 8-10, 2013. My dolls were purchased on August 9, 2013, and are numbered 114 of 600.

Gold Limited Edition Snow White Designer Fairytale Doll Set (D23 Exclusive). The slip cover has been removed to reveal the Snow White and the Prince dolls enclosed inside an acrylic case.
My purchases of Disney Fairytale Designer Collection merchandise from the first day (August 9, 2013) of the D23 Expo 2013. I was lucky enough to get a Gold D23 Exclusive Limited Edition Snow White Designer Fairytale Doll Set. It was limited to only 600 sets, and I was told by a Cast Member that there were only about 60 left when I entered the store. I also pre-ordered the entire collection of 5 Designer Doll sets, which came with a free copy of the Limited Edition Lithograph set, which I got to take home immediately. I purchased a sampling of other items in the collection, mainly Snow White related, to go along with my Gold Snow White doll.
More photos of these items and photos from the D23 Expo itself to come shortly.
My Snow White and the Hag Doll Set is fully deboxed. Here Snow White is standing alone, supported by a Kaiser doll stand.

Last six doll sets of the Fairytale Designer Collection, from Belle and the Beast to Rapunzel and Flynn.
Here are some group photos of the dolls from the Disney Designer Doll Collections. Here is the compete collection of the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Doll Sets. Included is the exclusive D23 Snow White and the Prince set. They are all fully deboxed and put back into their original display stands. The covers and cardboard backing have been taken off, so the dolls are fully visible from all angles.
Here Tinker Bell and Zarina have been completely deboxed, then placed back on their display stands, without the covers or backing cardboard. They are temporarily next to my computer desk, in front of my Harrods Anna and Elsa Doll Set. It is curious that both sets of dolls consist of a blonde and a redhead. Photographed using built in flash.
First look at my Tinker Bell and Zarina Limited Edition Designer Dolls. My Tinker Bell is number 2710 of 4000, and my Zarina is 0137 of 4000. There were no designer bags, as there were in the previous Designer doll collections.
My visit to my local Disney Store on Februay 18, 2014. I was there for the release of the Disney Fairies Designer Collection dolls. I also noticed that they had several items in the Frozen section that had been missing for several weeks, especially the mugs and Classic Anna dolls, but no Elsas.
They had eight of each Designer Fairy doll, Tinker Bell and Zarina. There were about that many people waiting in line before the store opened, waiting to buy them. I didn't do an actual count, but no one left the line when it was announced how many dolls there were, so there were probably seven or eight of them in the line. They had no designer bags, so they just put them in regular Disney Store bags.
I inspected my dolls, and they looked in perfect condition. I was surprised by their shiny pearly skin (similar in texture to LE Ursula and Harrods Elsa), but they looked very beautiful. The artwork on the boxes were also very beautiful, but the backgrounds behind the dolls were plain looking. The CM had to help me take off the slip cover of the Zarina doll, as it was very tight. She said all the Zarinas seemed to be that way.
Below is information from the UK Disney Store website, as the dolls are not yet available online in the US site.

Quick photos of Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. They were taken outside of the Disney Store right after I purchased them. Boxed doll with slipcover off. Closeup of Tinker Bell. Her face could be cuter, but it's okay for such a tiny figure.
I stopped by my local Disney Store during my lunch break, to enter the raffle for the Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. I was about the tenth one picked. It turns out that there were 18 sets available, and 3 left after the raffle.
I went to the checkout line with the other raffle winners. In contrast to last week, when they only had one register for the raffle winners, today they had three registers going, which made for a much quicker and less stressful checkout. They allowed all people to inspect the dolls before they bagged them. Mine looked good, without any noticeable defects. Tinker Bell looked like a giant gnat, hanging from the front left corner. My set was #3211 of 6000.
Afterwards, I went to a table outside the store and took a few photos before going back to work. I will take more detailed photos and post them here later tonight.
Inside the Disney Store. Snow Queen Elsa in a OOAK diorama of Arendelle Castle.
My deboxed 2016 Designer Fairytale Doll Sets. They have been reposed in their original display cases, but with the covers and cardboard backing removed. They are in the order of their release dates, except that Alice and Belle have been switched to give Aurora more room for her skirt, and to make the grouping more pleasing.
Inside the Disney Store. The D23 Exclusive Elsa and Hans set that I actually purchased is in the center. They had lots of the sets on the shelves, so it allowed me to be choosy.

Here are side by side views of my Pocahontas Limited Edition 16 inch doll (2018, #344 of 4500) versus the Pocahontas DFDC 11 1/2 inch doll (2014, #1352 of 6000). The LE doll has her necklace turned around so the golden feather charm is in front, rather than the brown stone. She is supported by the included display stand. The Designer Fairytale doll is supported by a Kaiser stand. For the midrange front view, the Designer doll is raised about 4 inches so their heads would be at about the same level. Their thin braids have been placed in front of them, so they are more visible.
Lineup of all five doll sets in the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, both boxed and deboxed. On the bottom are the dolls of the pre-ordered complete collection, all numbered #12 of 6000, except for Snow White, who is #4508 of 6000. They are all in their original, boxed condition, except for Ariel and Eric, who I have tidied up a bit, without disturbing the factory shipping restraints. Stacked above them are a second copy of the doll sets, that have been completely deboxed by me, then replaced in their display stands, but in improved poses. Because Flynn's doll stand is almost directly behind Rapunzel's, I have him free standing to the left of Rapunzel in order to make him more visible, and have him in a closer more intimate pose with her. The deboxed dolls were purchased separately from the Disney Store. The Jasmine and Ariel sets were bought online, so I had to wait about a week to receive them through the mail. The others were bought at a local Disney Store on release day.
Following are the dates that I bought/received the dolls, and their edition numbers.
Snow White and the Prince Doll Set (August 9/October 15, #4508 of 6000; August 20, #558)
Rapunzel and Flynn Rider Doll Set (August 9/October 15, #12; September 3, #2411)
Jasmine and Aladdin Doll Set (August 9/October 15, #12; September 18/26, #899)
Belle and the Beast Doll Set (August 9/October 15, #12; October 1, #4754)
Ariel and Eric Doll Set (August 9/October 15, #12; October 16/25, #1145)
Photos of my Tiana and Naveen Disney Fairytale Designer Doll Set. I purchased it today at my local Disney Store, on its release day, Tuesday September 2014. There were only five persons entered in the drawing, and the store had 15 sets to sell. I got my set and opened it up at the register to make sure everything looked good. They looked perfect to me. I took a quick photo, with permission from the CM. In better lighting, the gold embroidery in her dress was much more impressive than I remembered it from looking at the display dolls. I also looked at the back, and it was #4872 of 6000. That was a nice number to me, so I declined the offer from the CM to look at another set to see if it had a lower number.
The Anna and Elsa dolls from the D23 Frozen Doll Set have rejoined my Desktop Doll Display, after a long absence. Joining them are the newly released Anna and Elsa dolls from the Frozen Deluxe Fashion Doll Set, and the Singing Elsa doll. They are in front of four of the Fairytale Designer Collection doll sets. Surrounding them are some of my 17'' Limited Edition Disney Store dolls, including LE Cinderella and Belle, who were moved off the desk to make room for other dolls. The D23 Snow White Doll Set and the Fairytale Designer Ariel and Eric sets are now in my Wall of Designer Dolls Display.
All dolls are deboxed, and are all by the Disney Store. The following lists all the dolls in this photo, their heights, and the year of the doll's release.

Day 3 of the D23 Expo 2015 on Sunday Aug 16, 2015
Goals: Get Extras of LE Items
I got to the Convention Center at about 5 am. Today, the lineup for early birds was outside of the main entrance to the Convention Center. The line stretched from the start of Hall B to near the end of Hall A. That is the opposite side of the main Convention Center building from Hall E, where we lined up on Friday. I got to the end of the line at about 5:15. We were led inside to the lobby of Hall A, at about 6 am. We entered the main Exhibit Hall at about 9 am. We were escorted in a single line to the end of the Disney Store line (after which Guests that didn't want to go to the Disney Store were free to go their destination). I got to the end of the line at about 9:15, which was in the main waiting area. I got into the store at around 10:20, about an hour and half earlier than on Saturday. That's because there were much less people attending the Expo on Sunday than Saturday. Before I entered the store, I was told that the D23 LE Designer Elsa and Hans doll set, the D23 LE Red Jasmine doll, and the D23 Designer Minnie doll were already sold out. The first two sold out yesterday, but I'm not sure when Minnie sold out.
At Disney Store I got some items for some fellow collectors. Outside of the store I grabbed a few of the DFDC flyers. Inside I got one each of the D23 LE 700 Olaf Figurine, the DFDC LE 2000 Lithograph Set, and the LE 1000 Art of Jasmine Lithograph set. Then I got a few things for myself that I didn't buy yesterday. Namely the Peter Pan and Captain Hook mug and journal, and the Art of Jasmine journal. I also took some photos of displays that I didn't take before. Namely the Ariel/Ursula display, and the Snow White/Witch purse/bag. Also I took a photo of the main DFDC promo display. It changed from yesterday, in that the promo for the D23 Elsa and Hans doll set (which was sold out) was replaced by an Ariel and Ursula women's tee shirt. I left the store at about 10:45 am.
Since I bought relatively few items, and it was so early, I decided to visit a few other merchandise locations for items I might be interested in. I first went to the Dream Store. I had heard that there was no waiting to get into the Dream Store, in stark contrast to the Disney store. Sure enough, they let me enter the store without waiting. The store was much larger than the Disney Store, but was also very crowded with customers. There were also several artists there to sign their merchandise. I got a couple of Deluxe Prints of Snow White and Ariel, by Golden Books. I also got a postcard of the new Snow White print by Jasmine Becket-Griffith.
Next I went to the Disney Music Emporium, and got a Little Mermaid Picture Disc. I hadn't seen it in Disneyland for a long time, so decided to get it here when I saw it. Finally I went to the Enesco/Walt Disney Archives booth. Inside the very cramped booth were persons playing Snow Queen Elsa and Hans, with very impressive costumes. There was also a signing taking place by a Disney artist. I saw a couple of simulated storybooks of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and of Sleeping Beauty. They contained notecards depicting scenes and artwork from the original movies. They were very nice looking so I got one of each, for $25. I also grabbed a price listing of the items showcased in the booth. The Anna Maquette will be $199, and the Elsa Maquette will be $350, both coming out in December 2015.
I finally left the Expo at about 11:30, and went home. All in all a very good Expo for me. It was tiring to have to wake up at 4 am each morning and wait in line for hours to get to the Disney Store. But I was rewarded by getting the D23 Exclusive Coronation Elsa and Hans Designer Doll Set, and the D23 Exclusive Red Jasmine 17'' Doll. Pre-ordering the full DFDC doll collection, and previewing all the dolls in that collection, satisfied two of the primary reasons that I came here. I missed getting some of the most limited and highly sought after items, such as the Designer Pin Set, and the Once Upon a Time doll set. But I'm okay with that, as I didn't think I had a real shot at them anyway, especially since I decided not to camp out overnight for the Friday and Saturday sessions.
Designer, Medicom and Classic Anna dolls, in winter gear. They are all about 11 1/2 inches tall. Designer Anna is in her troll wedding cape and crown, but otherwise her outfit is the same as the other two dolls.
Detailed photos of my Medicom Real Action Heroes Anna 1/6 scale action figure. I show her boxed, during deboxing, and fully deboxed. She comes with her Snow Gear outfit, with cape and cap as accessories. The cape is wired so it is posable. Out of the box she has a blouse, bodice, skirt, wired underskirt, bloomers and boots. Her front bangs, face, hands, and boots are removable. She has no separate feet, only pegs that go from the boots directly into holes in her legs. She comes with three faces, two pairs of gloved hands and three pairs of bare hands. She is highly articulated, and has more freedom of movement than a Disney Store Princess doll. If you remove her face, you can move her eyes from the inside. Her dual braids are flexible, so can be posed, and are free to move along with her head when it is turned around. She stands 11.5 inches tall, just slightly shorter than Classic Anna. She cannot free stand, so when she is deboxed, she is supported by the included clear plastic display stand. She is a very accurate depiction of the animated character. Her face is probably more accurate than the Disney Anna 12 inch dolls, although her standard face out of the box is maybe a bit too goofy, especially with the crossed eyes. Her molded hair is definitely more accurate than the Disney Store Anna dolls, especially the braids. Her outfit has no glitter, jewels or embroidery, but has bloomers that the Disney Store Anna dolls lack, and is much better quality than the Classic Anna, and approaches that of Designer Anna. For now I only show her in her standard state, without her cap and cape. But I will soon put her through her paces, trying out her various accessories and posing her in different ways. I will also compare her side by side with the DS Classic and Designer Anna dolls.
All my purchases on FF release day.
My initial photos of the Frozen limited edition dolls that I got at their release day (Tuesday November 3) at my local Disney Store. I also got the Peter Pan tsum tsums, the Frozen Fever mini tsums (in Olaf carrying case), and my pre-ordered Inside Out Blu-ray/DVD combo pack. There was a coupon that came with the pre-order voucher card, that took $10 off a purchase of $40 or more, which came in handy today.
I also show a boxed FF Elsa next to deboxed SQ Elsa to do a quick comparison of the two limited edition 17'' dolls.
All photos were taken in indirect natural light.
Here she is lifting her skirt to show her glass slippers with golden butterfly decoration.
