This is a Crop of a pair of Tree Swallows on the power lines I walk under every day with my dogs. The lines are about 150 ft from my pond and there is a blue bird box a little closer by. The Tree Swallows win out over the bluebirds every year regarding the nesting box. I have counted as many as 50 swallows at one time on these lines. Earlier this summer, they would be on the wire as I walked under...then they would take off and fly all around us as we approached the blue bird box....getting as close as 10 feet away. I do not know if they are defending the box or showing off and saying Good Morning

The story of the Debbie Jane being on the beach is still a mystery. There are several stories about what it and it's crew of three were doing on Saturday night. What is known is that it hit a sand bar 200m off the coast (what were they doing so close anyway?) and the crew were rescued by the crew from a rescue helicopter (they waded out from the shore).
This morning (Monday) was the first attempt to drag it up the beach (past the high tide level) but the wooden boat is full of water and sand now, so despite the attempts of the two diggers they could not move it.
With the incoming tide approaching the decision was made to leave it to the next low tide (about 8pm Monday night), and then the boat was broken up in place and pieces dragged up the beach.

this is the second of the two designs for kytes in last year's "original thinking" class at my visual communications school.
the brief was to design kytes that were designated to be flown all along israel and palestine, as a symbol of dicssion between the two nations.
i chose to make symbols, rather than a designed poster on this subject, because i felt that these icons will be seen on a flying kyte only if they are catchy.
in this symbol i was inspired by the "Shamir Bros" illustration for early israely milk advert. i turned the old milk glass from the advert, into a "plastic cup" with a string attached, symbolizing a symple yet coherant communication method used by kids.
40" x 50" o/c. This precedes "connected". As to the bald heads, all my people were bald for 5-6 years....I had some notion of making them all "just people...humans" rather than individuals.
