A small section of a car brake disc. Always amazes me how quickly rust will appear on the face of a disc. After a heavy rain this afternoon, these rust spots developed within two hours

The Burr Disc is a metal Disc with the Letter 'E' in the centre to make the most Easterly point in Ireland which is situated at this point in Ballyhalbert County Down Northern Ireland. I decided to upload a wee series of pictures that I took this day in Ballyhalbert. I thought this a interesting wee picture as it shows the abandoned trawler 'Ocean Adventure' in the background which gives more of a scale to the other pictures I've uploaded of this boat. The main focal point though in The Burr Disc and Asha just adds a more personal touch to this picture for me...

Tagetes patula, the French marigold, is a species of flowering plant in the daisy family, native to Mexico and Guatemala with several naturalised populations in many other countries. It is widely cultivated as an easily grown bedding plant, with thousands of different cultivars in brilliant shades of yellow and orange.

Marigold 'Disco Marietta' (Disco Marietta Marigold) are large 2 inch single flowers of golden yellow with mahogany blotches. They bloom in abundance from early spring to frost.

First image of the full Earth disc from the Meteosat Third Generation Imager. The first image from Meteosat Third Generation – Imager 1 (MTG-I1) reveals a level of detail about the weather over Europe and Africa not previously possible from 36 000 km above Earth. The higher-resolution images provided by the instruments on board give weather forecasters more information about the clouds cloaking much of Europe and visible in the equatorial region of Africa and the Atlantic Ocean. Sand and sediment in the waters off Italy are also visible, as well as dust or smog being carried from south Asia. This degree of detail is not possible from the instruments on the Meteosat Second Generation satellites. The image was captured at 11:50 UTC on 18 March 2023 by the Flexible Combined Imager on MTG-I1.
