A foggy morning October morning in Edinburgh

Mill Road, showing the site of the Thomas Hunter Works which was once part of the sprawling G.E.C. empire.

The West Coast Mainline is visible here in the background, electrified in the '60s and now undergoing another revamp in the Rugby area.

Not a great shot granted, more uploaded merely as a future curio. This was the last video (I suppose latterly DVD) rental shop in Wymondham. It now stands empty though the old sign remains.

Expect future generations to smirk at the archaic concept of rewinding before returning, or for that matter what the odd box shaped character is supposed to be.

Disappears. Bloomington IN, September 2011.

The small square structure that was in front of the large pine is now totally gone, and they have started in on the rest of the buildings. I was told that a church bought the property to build on. I also got run off by a Sheriff's Deputy, so I won't be stopping by for anymore shots of this place.

The large building in the left background is the main works office block, soon to be demolished to make way for a 'leisure park'. Great.

Another shot from Old Winchester Hill. I need to get out more!

In London for the day, I was told that Victoria had disappeared and was skeptical. Later that night I had to get the bus from Victoria and dicovered that much of it really had disappeared - almost a complete block bounded by Buckingham Palace Road, Victoria Street and Bressenden Place, just gone. Quite a bit of the block was horrible, most notably the Thistle Hotel on the corner - which was surely a fairly recent building in the first place, but some really interesting buildings on the corner of Buckingham Palace Road and Victoria Street - opposite the Balls Bros Wine bar - have gone too. Pity.

On the other hands there are views to be had which are unlikely to be repeated once new building has taken place.

From the disappearing XiNing Neighborhood of Taipei. Soon to replaced by skyscrapers and subways. By the looks of it, this was constructed during the Japanese occupation period. Going, going, gone.

Long ago, this region of California was called the "Valley of the Heart's Delight" and San Jose was known as "Garden City". It was an agricultural paradise which has been mostly displaced by development.

This 2 acre plot had remained largely untouched through a century of change, but now it will fade away as the nature is killed and replaced with "high density housing". Makes me sad. But it was a beautiful moment.

A penguin ice sculpture near the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Greenpeace activists across the world have placed penguin ice sculptures outside government buildings to call for a global ocean sanctuary. From Seoul to London, Buenos Aires to Cape Town, the melting ice penguin sculptures were installed in 15 countries to send a message to governments about the impact of climate change on ocean wildlife.

I took this shot yesterday and passed it again at 5.s0 this morning - the roof has now gone . . .

Disappearing 9-patch table runner, and the original 9 patch block. In this one, there is not enough contrast between the two main colours.

This tree is in the slow but steady process of absorbing gravestones; there are three that are partially visible - but who knows what else has disappeared?

Again, a late, after-work photo. This is something I painted a while ago and decided to put up on my wall again some time ago. I'm no good at painting, but I like it...

Lady, you've got to be kidding with that stroller there. There is NO WAY that you'll make it up the stairs with that.
