First real rain is coming in the next days, the air feels different, smells different, the light isn't as bright and the sky seems to have a fight with itself.

*After quite a while without any of those problems, seems Firestorm didn't want to rezz all my objects and make some of them disappear, and I struggle with the settings in Black Dragon :(
Portraits of The Disappeared outside the former headquaters of the communist secret police in Hungary in rememberance.
This is Balmaceda Glacier at the head of Última Esperanza Sound, in the south portion of Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, Chile. The glacier once flowed into the sound but is now retreating like most of the world's glaciers.

When I sighted this one it instantly flew off. I slowly followed. After a few more fly offs and follows, it stopped and appeared to size me up. After determining I was a tad too large to eat, it bobbed its head a few times and disappeared into the thick woods.

This is a photo I took close to where I live on a very misty day in the forest. Those trees are always very impressive but only in those misty conditions, was I able to separate them from the cluttered background.
My afternoon visitor. This young bear was on my patio looking like he may come in the house through the screen door! I jumped up and shut the main door and headed around the side towards the front of the house so I went out the front door to warn my neighbours that were outside with kids. He peeked over the side fence long enough so I could snap a couple of photos then disappeared over the back fence. He will not be around long as he had just come from inside another house down the road and conservation officers have been called several times about him. He isn't afraid of humans at all. Too bad...it won't end well for him.
heartfelt thanks for taking time to comment - always highly appreciated. wishing you all a great upcoming week, dear flickrfriends ☀️
A fun fog shoot, and I met some good folks along the way! ISO reduced to 31 to get to a 30 second exposure with a 10 stop ND filter... To me, the color corrected result was not as appealing as this version - one of the benefits/happy accidents of a color casting ND filter!
Sethi is terrified by few things but fireworks are very high up on his list of phobias. As we know that he had to stay at home on New Year's Eve and during the night he hid somewhere in the basement when the fireworks started. The next morning he was allowed to go out again .... and disappeared for 24 hours. In the meantime he is back to his normal schedule but still a bit hypersensitive when it comes to loud noises.
"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."

Capturing the zooming colors flying across the surface of a soap bubble is a terrific way to make your heart skip a beat.
IMG_6368: It's cold here! Monday a storm blew through and the winds created some drifts. See here the disappearing lanterns, tweaked a bit and displayed with a texture that I borrowed from borealnz (have a great holiday, Jill!) when she posted it to the Textures For Layers group a while back.
C'mon Ingleborough I know it's you.
This morning was a heroic failure. After watching the Snooker final until 1.00am I vowed to get up at 6.00 and do sunrise over Ingleborough. Needless to say, I slept until 7.00 and missed the sunrise, so may just as well have stayed in bed anyway. Still, it was a great day for a walk and the evening light made up for the poor start.
Here, Ingleborough hidden in a layer of
cold mist.
Back in Cadzand, I wanted to spent some more time here to grab some long exposure shots. My first batch was amazing, I hope you like my latest from the same place. Again i was very lucky with the weather, a clear sky with some clouds and a nice little wind to create the streakes.
After the sunrise, steppe mist disappeared slowly... diesel engines roaring through hills and the entire valley.

Captured with a view to the Happy Fence Friday theme... I like the calm waters and the fence's gradual disapperance into the water
There I disappear in darkness, last of the light far away. I'm among the brothers who welcome me as one of them they say, cold mist like a blanket. White walkers under the snow, but there's no snow, nowhere to go. And as Night Watch never sleeps, I feel home, I'm home.
Young bighorn ram - Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada
He paused for a few seconds almost as if he was calculating the route he would be taking, then he went bounding up the steep rocks to disappear from view.

There's a new Sparrowhawk visiting our garden. Our usual male Sparrowhawk who appeared as a juvenile 6 years ago seems to have disappeared and this lovely bird seems to have filled the empty space. It hasn't wasted any time and has taken a liking to our garden mice.
Taken a couple of weekends ago on an outing with the Famous Flickr Five at Black Rock. Just as we were about to pack it in for the evening, the sky colours just kept changing.
This was after the strong orange glow had all but disappeared, leaving a wash of warm orange and purple in the sky.

The Jin Mao (金茂大厦) in Pudong at 93 floors is one of the tallest building in the world, but not the tallest building in Shanghai (上海). Opened in 1988, the architecture takes in account the Chinese tradition of pagoda, of course in different scale. Designed paradoxically by Chicago company (SOM). Main occupant is Hyatt Hotel from 54 to 88 floors. In elevator, on the way to the top we met Anthony - a Chinese American originally from Seattle. After a brief conversation, he mentioned that he was the General Manager of the hotel. He suggested going the 85 floor for the best view of the atrium. The view from the hotel may be spectacular, but we could not experience it, as the whole city was shrouded in heavy fog.

After floating and breaking up, this once much larger iceberg would soon disappear in the waters of southern Greenland. Taken from a zodiac on a relatively lovely summer day.
