After a long drive and arriving late afternoon, Kay suggested a quick walk. I went off with my brother Mark and we dashed across the common nearby to this wonderful view of Ullswater in the gloom. It was funny, but the mist and impending downpour brought back so many wonderful mountain days that somehow I fell back into my wonderful world of memories. So many great walks lost in your little world with no visibility and free to fly. Made to disappear is by The Twilight Sad. Dinner came very late .
At this time of year the light does not get to this part of my garden until after 4pm...the Siskin normally disappear at 4pm ...but today this Male came about 4-30 ..😀😀😀

ENGLISH
Salvia nemorosa, the woodland sage, Balkan clary, blue sage or wild sage, is a hardy herbaceous perennial plant native to a wide area of central Europe and Western Asia.
It is an attractive plant that is easy to grow and propagate, with the result that it has been passed around by gardeners for many years. Its wide distribution, long history, and the ease with which it hybridizes have resulted in many cultivars and hybrids—along with problems in clearly identifying the hybrids and their relationship with S. nemorosa. It was named and described by Carl Linnaeus in 1762, with nemorosa ("of woods") referring to its typical habitat in groves and woods.
In northern Britain, Salvia nemorosa and Salvia pratensis are both in danger of disappearing due to depredation from slugs.
The many inflorescences have closely spaced whorls of small flowers with brightly colored calyces.

This pink handsome man suddenly showed up near my town. And also suddenly disappeared in a couple of weeks.

Hi all! No, I haven't disappeared again. Just dealing with a flare up of shoulder/neck pain that has made it difficult to work on my laptop. It's finally feeling much better this morning but I'll probably be off most of the rest of today. Hopefully back tomorrow able to spend more time here catching up with your posts and also group activity!
As always, thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for viewing my photo albums:
Although we have had a bit of a thaw this week, there are still many half hidden fences everywhere. The good news is that we can see the roof of our house again. But we do have a weather alert for a heavy snowfall tomorrow. I saw my chipmunk on the deck today. He came out of hibernation early. I wonder if he will disappear again, too. HFF
For those of you who remember the barn which last summer disappeared bit by bit. This year there is nothing left and a new one was built to the right of the cross.
Nicola Valley mountain top and the sun is almost gone. The clouds hover like vultures waiting for the end as the light seems to move up to the peak.

Born in Castelforte, Italy, on July 20, 1890.
Died of influenza in Cortland, New York, on October 12, 1918, when he was 28 years old.
(If this looks familiar, it's because I posted a photograph of Mr. Corte I took with my Hasselblad a while back.)
i was very happy to finally see and photograph these beautiful endangered birds for the first time the other day.
"The round-headed, blue and gray Florida Scrub-Jay is the only bird species that lives exclusively in Florida, where it occurs in patches of low-growing scrub oak in sandy soils. It perches tall with its long tail hanging down or boldly hops on the ground burying acorns. This social bird forms extended family groups: the young from previous years help their parents at subsequent nests until they can get a territory of their own. Extensive development and habitat fragmentation in Florida threaten this bird’s already small population, placing it on the federal endangered species list."
