Criticism by itself, even true criticism, does not do much good . . . We stand much more in need of encouragement, of positive and clear direction. We know well enough what is wrong with us, but the monotony of the life sometimes makes us so dejected that we cannot seem to do anything about it. What we need above all are words that will make us love one another and advice that will strengthen us to overcome evil with good.

August, 2010. A simple glacial hill that essentially shaped the Georgian-Victorian-Georgian history of an important strategic port city. It hosted a fortress that helped protect the entrance to a large, ice-free harbour that snared a largely forgotten 18th century French invasion armada, bore the brunt of a devastating explosion, launched a thousand+ ships when 20th century war-time duty called, and once hosted a discrete, proud, deep-rooted shoreline community. Halifax is rapidly becoming a historically unique, youthful, community-oriented, cultural and commercial hub that deserves a brighter future..

The street right in front of my house, as seen through my HOLGA.
I got some light leaking this time around, despite gaffer tape all around the camera's exterior. Vignetting is strong since I left out the plastic insert for the Kodak NC120 film. Converison to B/W using Aperture. Other than that, pretty much right out of camera (or the darkroom, that is).
