This was from the morning gathering at the lek* - these are Lesser Prairie Chickens (they don't have as much brown in them). They share territory in some areas.

*A Lek is a hill/or rise area where birds and animals gather to do their courting and sparking!

En période de nidification, le Grand Chevalier est commun en forêt boréale. Il est reconnu pour son agressivité dès que vous approchez de son nid. Il se perche tout près, au sommet d'un conifère, et il vous harangue de belle façon. Au bout d'un moment, il vous attaque en plongeant vers vous mais il change de direction à environ 3 ou 4 mètres avant de vous atteindre.

During the nesting season, the Greater Yellowlegs is common in the boreal forest. It is known for its aggressiveness as soon as you approach its nest. It perches close to the top of a conifer and harangues you in a beautiful way. After a while, it attacks you by diving towards you but it changes direction about 3 or 4 meters before reaching you.

Durante la época de nidificación, el Patamarilla Mayor es frecuente en el bosque boreal. Se sabe que es agresivo cuando te acercas a su nido. Se posará cerca de la copa de una conífera y le arengará de una forma preciosa. Al cabo de un rato, te atacará lanzándose hacia ti, pero cambiará de dirección unos 3 ó 4 metros antes de alcanzarte.
